Gender is really irrelevant, because man or woman, your still human. If a girl hits me, im yelling "She assaulted me physically! Look how i am injured and she is not. This is me retaliating to a physical act of violence that should have, and could have been avoided had she not just assaulted me in this manor, i am now retaliating to her act of violence with an equal amount of force, and will do no more then i have to to protect myself, thank you for your time, have a great night". Then i would bop her once in the nose. Just once.
Probably hard enough to cause some light bleeding. If she cut me or something, probably hard enough to break her nose. But in the end, yes, i would hit her back.

If they were being a total *****, then yes. Otherwise, I wouldn't. Though if it was in self-defense...
You shouldn't hit anyone either a man or woman without a reason (And usually there are other options) and hitting or not hitting a woman just because she is a woman is dumb and wrong.

Well, if they hit me first then im pretty inclined to hit them back. Infact i have, on numerous occasions. I'd never hit anyone (Regardless of Gender) out of the blue, unless they where to do something totally out of order
As a general rule I won't hurt people, and I've always been disgusted with violence, in the real world any ways.

Gender does not matter to me. I'm not a violent person so chances are if I'm hitting you you're either attacking me, someone else I care about or are doing something ridicously wrong (like eating a baby in front of me). I don't see why you should get a free pass for being female.
I will never start a fight with anyone, because I'm too nice a guy. But if someone starts one with me then I will hit, kick, bite, and everything else, to win the fight, regardless of their gender, because they started the fight first. If a guy hits me, I'll hit him back. If a girl hits me then she obviously feels she has the physical capability to take me on so I'll feel no qualms in hitting her back too. I'm a firm believer in equality for all - we're not 'male and female', we're just people. Thus, if a person attacks me I will fight back against that person, it's that simple. And yes, I am a very dirty fighter. As long as I win the fight, I will use any means necessary, because I don't give a damn about honour. There's no honour in being a dead man, or a severely injured one, and I'd rather be alive and healthy without honour, than be an honourable corpse.

this actually happened to me in tenth grade. this ***** who would do anything to make others miserable came up to me and said that I had taken her seat on a bench. I didn't, but obviously she didn't listen to me and she started kicking me and hitting me and pulling my hair* and since i don't hit women I just grabbed her hands and waited for her to cool down. That took a while though, she tried to kick me for a while and after a few minutes of this she gave up and walked away and I sat down and continued what I was doing.
*is there a word for this? pulling the hair of someone i mean

Not once have I hit first. It was always in retaliation and always in control. They strike me, I strike back harder to let them know that I won't tolerate being struck. That's their warning. If they stop after that point then so will I. If not then I will end the fight. I won't go berserker rage and have to be dragged off them, I'll just make it so they cannot continue to attack me, nothing more.
I hope I never really have to hit anybody outside of controlled sparring but that's how it'll go down if it happens.

It would depend on the conditions. If a woman was threatening me, by all means I would take her down using only the force I feel is necessary, preferably to restrain by grappling (having the weight and strength to do so), but if needed I would strike her down
I don't like hitting people at all--unless it is my friends, and that is just friendly bops back and forth--but if a woman hit me, you bet your ass I'd hit her back. If women want equality, they have to be willing to accept all parts of it, not only the parts they want.
