Under no circumstances would I hit a woman. I was raised as a gentleman and follow a code of chivalry.

Yes, chivalry isn't dead.
Have fun dying if a woman takes advantage of that and knifes you in the neck! :D

A girl was once annoying me to the point where I almost hit her.
Then she started teasing me about hitting her as if I couldn't.
Then I did, with my small umbrella.
For some reason she was suprised.

The only thing that would make me hesitant to hit a woman, is what I'm pretty sure is the cause for the past views. Men were mostly in control, and I think people have a different mentality to the gender they are attracted to, so they naturally feel less inclined to hurt them.

But mostly I just don't hit people.

To not hit a woman when you would hit a man in the same situation is sexist.
Although you would hope civilised people would never resort to violence.

I believe I acted properly. Do you?
I don't know hitting is not okay.
Usually my 'hitting' of someone is grabbing them and pulling them to the ground in some way or another.
I had one woman grab my balls and aggressively offer a sexual favor for letting the 8 oz. of crack cocaine and unregistered (but broken) firearm go. When I pushed her away and said 'don't let me get you on attempting to bribe on an officer and sexual assault now' she flipped out and repeatedly tried to kick, scratch, punch, whatever my groin area. I was a full 14 inches taller though so it wasn't hard to deflect said attacks.
When she had her hands cuffed behind her in the cruiser she was trying her best to place things into her lower body orifices. It just made a ghastly mess and then... wait what were we talking about?
Oh right... I've hit more than a few woman, men, teenagers. That kind of happens sometimes when you're a cop. I absolutely HATE things escalating to that point but it happens.

She got a sexual assault charge too.

If a man or woman would so much as attempt to hit me I would come down on him or her with the very height of my force and brutality. And I'm not even arguing for gender equality, if you attack me than I assume you either want me dead or hospitalized and I will not stop until you are incapable of standing against me. I believe you did the right thing, bullies regardless of gender can only be silenced by the means in which they bully others. Talking from experience, as someone who spent their entire childhood fighting against bullies of all genders and ages.

Man or woman, my backhand stings just the same and flies just as frequently.

Also: 'If a woman can start throwing punches like a man, she can start taking them like one.'

I will hit anyone man, woman, or child if it is a matter of self-defense. I would drop kick a girl-scout in the face under the right circumstances. I refuse to just let people hit me, because of their gender. If your big enough and mean enough to hit someone then your big enough and mean enough to be hit back.

only in the right situation if a girl got insulted and slapped me in the face i would just shrug it off but if a woman had a knife or a gun and was obviously beyond reasoning with then yes.

Normal circumstances? No. Then again, not many people would in normal circumstances.

If a girl, in fact if anyone hits me properly, you bet I will hit them back. I'm not standing for getting my arse kicked. I used to be stood on constantly, but now I'm deciding to change that.

It's more of a body size index than boy vs girl.

little person, especially non-threatening girl--Hug to incapacitate.

Threatening Person--Defense Mode Engaged.

But for slap fight you described, I probably won't hit her as hard as I can. Probably just poke her hard in stomach or hug.

You completely ignored the point of my post and jumped on my loose wording (smaller rather than weaker)
Smaller vs weaker is a rather big difference though, and drastically changes your meaning. That's like if I were to say "when I said 'blacks are inferior,' I really meant 'blacks are darker.'" World of difference.

Even "weaker" doesn't entirely absolve you, as someone weaker can still win a fight. Weird, it's almost like there is some dynamic, rather than predestination.

as an excuse to condescendingly explain that a small person with martial arts training could beat a larger person. No fucking shit.
Actually, the point was smaller does not mean a loss. Your accusations of condescension are amusing, but false. I suppose you are free to infer what you want (since you're doing it anyway), but just pretending to know my intent does not make it so.

However, most people don't have martial arts training and size can be a significant advantage.
"Can be" being a REALLY FUCKING IMPORTANT POINT HERE.

Caps so you don't miss the point.

I could've chosen my words better but I think my post was perfectly clear.
It rather obviously wasn't, as you have twice made concessions to that end. As such, accusations of nitpicking are ridiculous.

So yes, I am patronising you because you are being childish and unnecessarily hostile
Pot, meet kettle.

something like that when I wasn't even addressing you to begin with.
Not to be condescending, but you do understand how internet forums/message boards/whatever work, right? You posted something in public, someone in the public saw it and commented.

So what does your end result break down to? "How dare you say stuff that I only inferred in nitpicking terminology that significantly changes the meaning of my posts when I didn't even address you in the first place!"

Is that really the outrage you want to run with, here?

Hahahahaha what? Equating smaller muscles with weakness is comparable with equating dark skin tone with inferiority? This is just getting fucking stupid. No one misunderstood my initial meaning except you. Cry some more if you must but I won't be replying again. I see no need to keep resurrecting a thread for this stupid bullshit.

I already have on multiple occasions. When you do martial arts you are bound to get stuck sparring a chick at some point and in unless they suck they usually don't want to be treated special.

I think Yoda says it best: Size matters not. Judge me by my size, do you?

But hey, I'm 6'5" and rarely outsized by anyone, so I bet I decimate everyone who picks a fight with me....

That being said, I'd prefer not to hit anyone. When I DO get into a fight, which I'd still rather not, I prefer to use rather passive moves.

Size does to matter. If you are taller then someone you can use jabs and push kicks to keep them at a range where you can hit them, but they can't hit you. On the other hand if you are tall you are more vulnerable to take downs. I think Semmy Schilt is a perfect example of why size matters. For a pro kickboxer he sort of sucks and yet he won the k1 grand prix 4 times.
