Poll: Would you kill an infant if it meant saving the lives of a large group of people?

There are enemy soldiers raiding your village. They immediately kill any civilians they happen across. You and roughly 20 other people have found refuge in a secret hiding spot. The problem is, one of the civilians is carrying a wailing infant. The enemy sodiers will certainly find and murder you all if something is not done to stop the crying. Your only option is to murder the infant. Otherwise, you will be found.

What do you do?

Personally, I would kill the infant. The good of the many.

This is also an interesting way to determine whether or not you are an emotional or logical thinker.

PS. On an unrelated note, my laptop has reverted to the original blue background and all the icons (like internet explorer) are gone. The only way to get on the internet is to go to run.
Please help! I have no idea what to do!

Edit: OK, this is the best scenario I could come up with for a situation like this. I'm not very creative. Basically, just imagine a situation where the only way to save at least a handful of innocent people is to murder an innocent baby.

Edit 2: Would your decision change or be modified in any way if it was your baby? Also, I am sorry for the limited poll, I just thought this is sort of a yes or no type of question.

Edit 3: Guys, please stop trying to cheat your way out of the question. I realise that this specific hypothetical scenario doesn't hold up under close review, but thats not the point. Next time I will try to come up with a situation that is absolutely foolproof.

Well, my first thought was "yeah, sure, I'd kill baby Hitler".

But then I read your scenario, saw that it was... kind of stupid, and voted "no".

Come on, what the hell kind of insane troll logic is that? "The baby is crying. Obviously, the only solution is to bash its head in with a large rock."

View my latest edit. I know I'm not very good at writing up scenarios, but just imagine a situation where you had choose between the safety of the group and of an infant.

I'd kill the baby. It's bad but my friend sitting next to me just suggested throwing the child as a distraction and making a run for it, so I don't feel quite so evil compared to him.

Numbers, they help us resolve problems logically. (Plus the large group has a good chance of containing infants.)

The child is unlikely to have formed desires and hopes with regards to its future, whereas the 20 adults have. I'd silence the child if possible and kill if necessary.

In my mind it's logical to assume that living among a society that would oust one member deemed minor in order to elevate the majority is the mob rule evil which I could not accept.
