If I lost any limbs or parts, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I like having my body be complete, I'm not gonna picky about fixing it.

I don't really find the idea of augmenting a universally good thing or an idea we should go with since it would probably create a disparity between social and economic groups especially in highly privatized countries(i'm looking at you America), also rich countries that have the economy to develop top tier augments and poorer countries that can't and probably ends up as manufacturing hubs and don't really get to enjoy the positive effects of beeing the next stage of human evolution.
it would probably advance as fast as computer technology now so it would become harder and harder to keep up with the evolution, buying a new phone every year is easy enough but i want to ask the question "how much would a hand cost and how long until it is outdated?".

now that's over with i want to say for the individual that can afford such augments it is probably awesome and give you possibilities beyond your dreams therefore i would like some augments to increase my brains processing speed and the ability to pick out details like Sherlock Holmes.

also the ability to keep my fabulous hair until i am 90

Eeyup, I'd happily go for augmentation. I'm a trans-humanist.
I'll take all of that lovely technological augmentation.

I've already got glasses, don't I? I wouldn't mind a few adjustments and buffs, really. I wouldn't be too keen on actually buying them, though.

I'd go for medical implants, I even have one already. But replacing healthy body parts with a piece of corporate hardware just seems reckless.

I was injured back in 2007 (left arm, below elbow)and my options were: Experimental surgery with a 40% chance of success, do nothing, and replace the damaged limb with a prosthetic. I would have gone with the prosthetic if it were one of those bad-ass cyber arms. Alas, I did nothing and decided to bide my time till technology catches up with my desires.
If Deus Ex: HR tech. was current, I would totally have given up my arm.

Oh, my god, dude that'd be SOOO DAMN COOOOL!!!

But only for self-defence purposes, I don't really want an unfair advantage, either, outside of metal death-hooks that sprout out of my arms to scare off attackers and metal bug-wings to make a quick getaway, and, for transportation!

It honestly depends on the extent of it. Whole sections of my body? I'd prefer not, but if it necessary to live I'm okay with it. A hand/arm? Sure, as long as it is equivalent to normal limbs.

If I lost a limb or something then I'd be all up for getting a mechanical replacement =) But I wouldn't replace a real part of me that works for something else. It just seems unnecessary.

I'd willingly replace a perfectly functioning body part with an augment is given the chance. The human body is painfully inefficient, and evolution just takes too bloody long.

Yes I would. I'd replace most of my internal organs (cept for mah brain and intestines) and probably limbs as well. Get some eye improvements maybe as well.
But my paranoia and pride in its development will keep me from getting anything done to my brain except in the most dire of circumstances (Alzheimer's, etc.).
I('d deal with any kind of societal shunning but if I have to take immune suppressing drugs or some other kind of highly expensive life long treatment to keep my body from rejecting my new parts I'd definitely have second thoughts.

And seeing as this is real life and that would be the case... Still yes actually.

I'd do it without even a first thought.

LET myself? I'd be cutting in front of the people who actually needed it just to get my hands on some augments first.

In fact, I'd go full Cyberman, brian-in-suit-of-armor if I could. I'm all about trans-humanism.

It really depends on what side effects there are, and if there'd be any social stigma. If there's none of these, I'd definitely do it.

I hate to be that guy...How do you define augmented?

If you mean a la Deus Ex style then only as a last resort, like to save my life after my body has been damaged beyond repair.

If you mean something like Neural Nanonics [http://nightsdawn.wikia.com/wiki/Neural_nanonics] then hell yes! sign me up for some of that action right now!
