I would LOVE to live in a city like that. If the city has everything I need along with things like a zoo/aquarium and a job, I'd probably never leave it. Personally, I don't like kids, babies, or most teens. I avoid them even in my own family and I have no desire to have any of my own. A city like that would be perfect for me, probably.
Also, I don't think the OP is saying that kids are wiped off the planet. They are kept outside city limits. And people can move in, so the population of the city can remain steady as long as there are people coming into it.

You're almost hitting a really great idea here. The problem with a lot of kids is their parents. If you removed children and brought them up without a lot of the prejudice that they encounter from their own families, the world would be a much better place. I mean Israeli and Palestinian children get along just fine until their parents see them.

You'd rather live in your own little "paradise" where those under a certain age would be regarded as personae non grata. Think also that you would be excluding the parents who might be perfectly nice and responsible people. It's not unreasonable to have a big problem with that and consider that there will still be plenty of arseholes in this cloistered childfree bubble of yours. Kids don't really bother me unless they're being annoying in a place I can't or shouldn't have to walk away from (i.e. flight, cinema, restaurant). In my day to day life, I have very little interaction with kids so as long as they keep quiet in the aforementioned locations, I couldn't care less if they live near me or not.

My hometown (not really a 'town' but more of a suburb) has almost no children. Just a bunch of old people and college kids.
My university is in a very adult city. I rarely see children around, and they certainly never get in the way. All of the kid stuff is outside of the city proper and outside of the university.

Err...well I wouldn't mind living in such a city as long as i'm single(so I clicked yes), but if I find a partner and decide to start a family then its gonna be a pain to move just because an entire city can't tolerate children.
By the way, why would you feel the need to create a city wear no children are allowed? Certain buildings and maybe certain sections of a city are understandable, but an entire city? Seriously, I understand that children can be very annoying at times, but this is a bit extreme to say the least.

OT: I would choose not to live in this place, So many people I know and think are awesome have younger siblings that would inhibit them from hanging out with me. Plus I don't have a problem with kids in real life. It's only the ones that scream and screech online and I doubt the city can stop that
i dunno, im hearing about the current crop of kids from multiple elementary teachers around the country. A good 50% of them need a asskicking. I am not even that old (28) but the gap between us is enormous (hell the gap between the kids nowadays and those 10 years ago is massive). I am not talking about nuns with rulers, but a good whack on the back of the head would do wonders.Phasmal said:

Also, i will be the first to admit...babies creep me the hell out. I do not find them cute in the slightest. It is that blank stare that....GAH. Once they turn into little kids i like interacting with them.
