No-I would organise riots and 'terrorist' actions against the state until they caught me, imprisoned me, tortured me and killed me.

But in the society im describing the masses would be equal but controlled.

Correct me if Im wrong but I think Socialism and Authority go hand in hand.
Not really - extreme centralised authority is a means of instituting socialism (frex, in Lenin's socialism), but that authority should go away once socialism is instituted (since it now serves no purpose). The problem is that the revolutionary process inspires more call to revolution, so more authority is given, and that authority becomes very self-perpetuating. Really, the Russian Revolution was continuing for decades after 1917. It never really got past the transition phase into socialism.

(EDIT: silly me, forgot the quote.)

Benjamin Franklin was a very insightful guy, and correct.
Indeed he was. Of all the people I would ever want to meet from any point in history, he's at the top of the list.

And I firmly believe in that quote, too. So many countries feel the need to sacrifice certain rights during war. I know for a fact that the 1st Amendment has gone out the window here in America during times of conflict, since at least World War I.

It disgusts me.

You mean "Temporary" right?

So I was off by a few words? So?

The message is still there. Besides, I think that my mis-quoted version sounds cooler. :p

Everyone lives in a police state, it's really up to the masses to embrace it or detest it.

I would love to. I would have my clone live the life I am supposed to live, while I secretly undermine the structure of society, spreading discontent all about, and eventually trigger a major revolution, toppling the existing governmental hierarchy!

In short: No.
