Well, that's a tough one. My initial thoughts were "fuck no", since I'm an atheist, but some good points have been made here. Revelation could be made into an interesting game. I'm thinking it wouldn't make much sense to play as Jesus or something like that... How about a party of perfectly normal people who happen to end up together during the early stages of the Apocalypse? No badass marine going Doom on the forces of Hell (that's been done...), but ordinary people who might develop supernatural powers as the magic (or whatever) of Heaven and Hell seeps into our reality. That makes for a decent FF or D&D style RPG. Who cares about fucking up the balance of the game setting? It's gonna get destroyed anyway! I think it could actually work.
How about, in the end (Armageddon, duh) you take on the four horsemen and the antichrist and bash their faces in good and proper, and then Satan decides that you're so powerful he has to finish you off personally (no-win encounter, maybe with JC joining up with your party -- survive for long enough or deal enough damage before you croak and you unlock bonus content or something)? Alternatively, if you play the evil storyline, the final boss is Gabriel, and when he's downed you get your ass handed to you by JC (who's obviously in -- because someone has to say it -- **God mode** LOL!!! ROFLMAO!!! Ehrm... That bad, huh?)?
But let's face it, it's never gonna happen. Too much controversy. The reason Norse and Greek mythology is acceptable is that these aren't major world religions today.
