Of course not! I know how my mind works, I probably squandered the money on something pointless, then travelled back in time so I could get the money again! D=

I'd take the money. Future self just screwed his hypothetically my own future up by changing timeline.

I would know better than to keep my past self guessing as to why its bad. But for the sake of the question I would take it, since obviously I'm well enough to go back in time to warn myself.

i have to take the money
if i did not take the money things would never go wrong and i would never go back to warm me about the money. so you see i must take them to keep balance in the universe. beside his future him/me would have warn him, and when he took the money he can´t force me to not take them

I would take the money, because a future me would explain why. If my future self leaves out such details, he is clearly an imposter out to foil me.

I don't see how taking the money would ruin my relationships though, I could get a lot of friends and family out of debt, so after doing that I would level headedly put the majority of what's left in the bank for some future child I can't foresee.... OR MAYBE HE'S WARNING ME ABOUT THE CHILD PART!!! FUTURE ME IS A GENIUS!!!!

Oh, crap, voted on the wrong option.

Considering dangerous genre savviness, and how my future self would probably be as insistent as I already am, I'd probably listen.

Would you take the money?
Yes I would. That's not future me, future me would know to alter the course of history so that I didn't win the money, while leaving me instructions detailing how I keep past me from winning the money and leaving him instructions on how to keep past him from winning, and so on.

I don't think it would be as simple as that...what if future you was telling you not to take it BECAUSE you were too careful with your money, and screwed yourself over somehow? o=
Could quite easily just ask future self what not to do with it?

But the idea was that futute self didn't have time, or simply didn't tell you, what not to do with it :p

I might be a little more careful. That should be enough. For all I care, be more careful with being more careful. But I can't imagine a good reason why I would ever want to give a warning like this.

I am very selfish, so any advice I give to myself is in my benefit.
Pretty much this. I know that at my deepest levels of motivation, I'm always looking out for number 1, so, any advice given to me by my future self would be good, despite how manipulative I might be.

Wait, if it is me from the future, and the ability to travel through time exists, isn't it possible that the future me is actually someone disguised as me attempting to ruin my future by telling me to give up the money? I can't see the future, so for all I know, future "me" could be lying. What if I give up the money, only to find out my future will be miserable because of doing so? That man stepping through that portal could be an impostor.

I'll keep the money, but, I'll be careful with it.
