I suppose I'd take the money, but give most if it away so I can't do something stupid with it.

Well the future me is probably insane by that point, so I'm taking the money! Of course, the money could be responsible for my insanity, or maybe....gah, fuck! I hate time travel because there are way too many variables. I guess I won't take the money.

Totally. I mean, if the future isn't predetermined then I can take the money knowing I'll have to be careful with it, as in one possible universe it ruined my life - forewarned is forearmed. On the other hand, if the future is predetermined then I have to take the money as my future self did.

Besides, it would seem that one of the things I bought with my £10,000,000 was a time machine, and that's gotta count for something.
Seconded here.

Then terrorists pick it up and cause a nuclear apocalypse :p.

I'd take the money since he's clearly an imposter. The real me would have given me future knowledge and the time machine.

If I don't take it, then a new time-line is created that Future Me knows nothing about. It could very well be much worse that the future I(he) came back in time to prevent. Dying penniless in a gutter seems much worse than "ruining the lives of others around me". Hell, I do that for fun anyways.

Future Me knows better than to tell me not to do something. He'd likely have come back because he knew if I had warning about how it could ruin my life, I could work to avert the disaster to come.
This sums up my thoughts. Future self knows me, he would know it would be impossible for me to say no.

Besides, there is nothing dangerous about hookers and blow.

I'd take that as "whatever you're thinking of doing- do something else".

It's a warning. Can change it if he warned me about it. Like what if I only took what I needed for loans and such? That and I think my future self would know I would make a better choice if I knew a risk, combined with future's lack of unwavering belief that the money is no good

Id take the money but i would also be cautious of everybody around me. After all this time i have a warning so i can change what happens.

i would take it but i would take in concideration on what i had told myself at the moment i came through the portal. since i dont do anything now that would ruin my life. i would take half and put it somewhere safe where only i know where is is and then when it comes down to when i need it i would put it away and still thats alot of money because £ 10 000 000 = 15.25200 million U.S. dollars

Ya id still take it, maybe donate it to charity or something.....unless that what your future self was warning you about. Well that would be a conundrum wouldn't it?

i would take the money cause i'm kind of a prick and i wouldn't trust myself

unless we're talking about me with a grey hair (and hopefully a grey gandalf beard) then i wouldn't take the money

You listen to your self > the bad thing never happens > you never travel through time > no one warns you to not take the cash > you take the cash > shit happens > you travel through time > you listen to your self > paradox > tear in space time continuum > some other even worse stuff, I guess.

Don't play with time space continuum foo'

Yup, I'd still take the money. Now that I know that something bad might happen I'd be extra-super cautious and not take stupid risks or spend it all in one place (like Vegas or whatnot). And if something bad still happens... well, at least I went down feeling happy and rich.
Yes but how do you know that being super cautios isnt the thing that ruined you in the first place, time travel is tricky, if future you came back to tell you then a future future you must have come back to tell future you, and in turn you must go back and tell yourself in the future, i would just go on as normal, you cant change anything

I'd take it. The scenario I'm in is logically impossible, so I've obviously been doing huge amounts of LSD. I'll use the money to pay for my rehab.

I would take it, because leaving it would give him an opportunity to take it for himself, since he'd probably look like me, and have the same id.
