you couldn't anyway. it would create a paradox. if hitler was killed before he got into power to do the terrible things he did you wouldn't have the idea of going back in time to kill him so he does go to power and then you decided to go and kill him and on and on and on. guess you could argue that in killing him you might end up creating an alternate universe in which he never got into power, but that brings it's own mess.

My ideas about time travel say you can't change anything when you go back because it already happened. You might do something, but you already did it the first time the past happened, so it wouldn't change.

Time traveling to kill someone can't work because they would have never existed for you to have the option to time travel... you can't just time travel and kill someone.

I would go back in time to Kill Marx instead, thus preventing the rise of both Communism and Fascism. Although that only works if, like me, you consider fascism to be a direct response to communism.

If I were to go and time travel back to hitlers time and kill him, then I would've had no desire to time travel and go kill hitler, thus a time paradox.
