No chance.

The war was bad, I'm sure, but it's over now - there's no sense in taking chances with our whole timeline to potentially correct it.

I'd do it, but chances are there'd be no consequences, if it had been at the beginning of world war 2.

Like the higher-up Nazis would ever publicly acknowledge he was dead.

If there were consequences, the power-vacuum could be a significant enough event for a German uprising.

To anyone who says no, I'd just ask that if we currently had a dictator who planned on killing millions, who you not kill them just because someone even worse could come along? It's always possible, but Hitler was plenty bad enough to deserve it.

Chance and uncertainty are what our world is made of, we don't have that much certainty now, so creating an unknown alternate timeline seems like a great chance to do things well.

But killing Kitler would cause the events of Red Alert to happen and then all kinds of time travel shinanagins.
(my apologies if anyone has already made this point before)

Who could fathom were the world would be if Hitler died before World War 2. A better Nazi leader might of not of invaded Russia, and instead focused on America. Anyone of my parents could of not of met because World War 2 didn't happen. How do we know that the world would be a better place if he never lived?

Realistically, probably not, mainly because I don't want to risk fucking with time. Or, assuming time travel works the whole "you can't change the future because anything you do back in time coincides with history" way I would probably fail to do so anyways, at least up until the point when he "commits suicide."

Can I go and kill Pol Pot instead? I don't think killing him would have any negative consequences, and he was almost as big a monster as Hitler.

I suppose It would be interesting to see the effects...but it would be impossible, Paradoxes!
If you go back in time to kill hitler which (for the sake of this example) Leads to a different chain reaction of events, resulting in you no longer existing in the future, it means you can not kill hitler as you do not exist.

Amrait? ... Right?

No.
The amount of chain reactions that it could cause, have you never seen Futurama he becomes his own granddad. I don't want nothing like that

Time travel, yes. Kill Hitler, no.
He was mostly an idol, rather not all the decision making went to him. I'd be more interested, who was funding the whole war, like which banks for instance.
Or who was pulling the strings on that drug addicted shell of a man, who lost his mind.

Hell no, hitler was a maniac who single handedly drove the nazis and germany straight into the ground and someone smarter would have replaced him

Nope.
Killing Hitler would possibly make him a martyr, possibly increasing even further, and glorifying the genocide.Plus, the reason German lost the war, was because Hitler ended up opening two fronts. What if he didn't?

I only said yes because, that's closest to what I'd do (provided that history still returns to its unaltered state when I come back).
If I could I'd kill him after the fall of France along with Goering. Then I'd let it play out and see what happens, I might jump in to vouch for Rommel in Africa if things don't get interesting.

I personally wouldn't be able to because if the second world war hadn't started my grandfather wouldn't of joined the navy causing my grandmother to put my mother up for adoption which means she wouldn't of gone to London met my father and I wouldn't be born.

Killing hitler after he came to power is pointless, someone else, probably worse would have taken charge and/ or would cause technological advances to stagnate.
