Zebra's are all messed up for me, guys. When I was a kid my mom would take my brother and I to Mexico for a day since it was just a short ride away from our place near San Diego. First time I'd ever seen a zebra, or so I'd thought. Turns out they were donkeys that had been painted to look like zebras. So in my mind asking about Zebra is like asking if I'd eat a donkey, and I can't eat a donkey any easier than I could eat a dog.

I've seen people mention buffalo here. Never tried the stuff, but I know they've created beefalo, which someone once told me was okay. Personally, there something too unnatural about that for my blood.

Depends on how it looks. If it looks like hamburger meat, maybe, but I am just picky in general so its not cause it is a Zebra.
You know, they make dog food that looks like ground beef, but is made of horses.

buffalo is awesome. so's kangaroo.
You haven't happened to go to Glastonbury have you? I had both of them there. quite chewy.
This topic reminds me of the beat feaster: http://www.beastfeaster.co.uk/
I haven't been actually. The kangaroo was in Walkabout and I'll admit was a little bit chewy. But the buffalo I had in a steak house in canada and it was in the form of a burger. Also had a side of 3 foot long king crab legs. Definitely my tastiest burger ever and probably my favourite meal ever.

That beast feaster thing looks awesome, I'd totally give that a go.

you know buffalo is good when they got nearly hunted to extinction. (although that was mostly for their skin which is just harsh to waste that meat)

Yes, I up for trying most kinds of meat. Buffalo is really good as is venison. I have heard elk is awesome too. I was told bear is good but very, very greasy. I like goose, duck, and alligator. Alligator was a bit chewy but very good. I also liked rattle snake. I tried is BBQ style. It too was a bit chewy but tasty.

Perhaps, depends what zebra tastes like and if I know they didn't kill it horribly.
Zebra's wild always die horribly. They are prey animals in Africa. The list of terrible death's for them and all prey animals in Africa is long and horrendous.

One of my dreams is to eat one of every animal. Except the endangered ones (happy goverment!?).
I think it would be cool for when people ask "Have you tried snake?" you reply with "Yea, have you tried HIPPOPOTMOUS!?" Then they look at you like your a crazy person.

Yes, I'd also enjoy baby cutlet and koala cuts. Anything cute, also I prefer to learn if said animal had a nickname or term of endearment for itself.

In all reality, I'd try it. I wouldn't feel morally pure, knowing that I ate a striped pony; which in and of itself is awesome, but I'm willing to give anything a chance. Now something like panda or whale, something that is on the brink of extinction (I'm not so sure about whales right now, but for the sake of example) would be a bit too much for me.

I believe if it's already been killed, I can't undo that, so I'll partake of it.

So, in short: Yes, I would try a zebra steak.

Sounds odd, but I've heard Zebra is delicious. Never had it myself. I was wondering how many people on here would be willing to try... for lack of better words, "uncommon" meat like Zebra, or... say, Gazelle.

What are you opinions?
Already have. It tastes just like Horse.

I tried Crocodile meat which was a little strange. Also Pigeon breast is amazing with a little bit of piri piri sauce :)

I'd be well up for it, As long as it's not endangered and I don't have to fend off animal rights activists from my house :p

I wouldn't try panda for example.

Of course I would! The only odd meat I would try is any form of genital. I mean, i'm sure they taste just fine, but on a different level, I couldn't imagine the pain involved in getting your balls eaten, even if you were dead.

I do have a question though, how is Pheasant unusual? I mean i've actually killed, cleaned, cooked, and eaten my own Pheasant before, nothing unusual about it.

On second thought, that may be because my entire extended family hunts and I live in Minnesota.

You put just about any type of cooked meat in front of me, I'll try it. I'm always looking for new and interesting experiences in dining. Unless it's cooked to well-done. then you can just leave.
