Poll: Would you try heroin if it were legal?

Hell no, I would never try it. There are very good reasons why that shit is illegal. That and I hate needles. And I saw Requiem for a Dream. And I don't even drink alcohol or smoke.

My issue with drugs in general is you have NO fucking idea whats been cut with that shit, heroin especially you inject directly into your viens, meaning any nasty shit in there is likely to kill or horribly damage you. If i grew my own weed id smoke it. If the government grew and regulated it id smoke it. Im not up for injection and drug dependancy so weed is as far as i would go hypothetically. And this is assuming i wont get busted for growing it. I would NEVER EVER trust someone that wasnt a carefully regulated body to inject ANY weird substance into my viens.

There is a russian drug for example, we call it crocodile in Germany, that starts literally eating your body from the first use. Withdrawal effects, even after only one use, include whole body parts like legs, arms, and the likes, dying (or rotting) off painfully. Im not sure what it is called in the UK and US, but you may know it as liquid ecstasy.

OT: No, probably not. As far as drugs are concerned whether a drug is illegal or legal makes little difference in my decision to take it or not. So not much would change for me personally. Why would I take it? The highs sound incredible but the long term effects on the body, or withdrawal symptoms, are to terrible.

Normal me is very restrained, I act on extremely few of my impulses, and quite frankly, I'm not sure I trust myself to get drunk no less being hopped up on even more powerful mind altering substances. So for the foreseeable future, I doubt I'll try any recreational drugs, and will probably continue to stay away from the prescription ones.

If anyone cares; I have been trying to open up more and it has been going pretty well, but I'm just not comfortable with the idea of my thoughts and actions being manipulated by chemicals.

As an interesting sidenote, its believed that heroin addiction only became a major problem after it was made illegal. When it was legal there was a relatively small number of people using it (And they were mostly clustered in one or two areas per country) and they could easily obtain more so withdrawal (And the violence caused by it) was never a problem. It was considered a rich mans drug in those days. As soon as it became illegal it became seen as taboo which meant that it became cool to try it so the number of users skyrocketed across the world and there wasn't enough supply to match demand.

Doesn't that seem rather ridiculous, though? The whole 'Becoming taboo makes it popular' thing never made sense to me.

I've done quite afew things but i refuse to try heroin, crack, meth, or anything like that. Hell even acid was way too much (some wierd shit, don't plan on doing it again) i don't know if i could handle heroin.

I don't like drugs, and I especially don't like taking them. I don't even like taking prescription and over-the-counter drugs because a.) I often forget to take them regularly/daily and b.) I don't like the side-effects (because they tend to only happen to me).

My drug policy is as so: Try everything once except for Crystal Meth (not even once). I would try heroin the same way I tried cocaine and pcp and the rest. Just once to see what it feels like and then never again.

I have never tried heroin before, chances are I won't ever get around to it either. If it were legal (which it most likely never will be) I would try it once.

I would defiantly smoke opium as well. That seems chill as hell.

And you might want to check your sources, since no drug in the world does what you are describing after one use. Simple logic dictates that there would be no profit in such a drug, since the customers would die of to quickly for them to develop an addiction. And it most definately isn't liquid MDMA(ecstasy).

Actually, dextroamphetamines are quite usefull, as long as you control the doses and don't abuse it. Speeds up your mind, making you more productive and confident.
