I used to play World of Warcraft back before any of the expansions came out. I only got up to level 58, but I really enjoyed the game. Generally speaking I prefer being able to play games on console. I remember wishing that I could play WOW on xbox while I was questing/grinding and not communicating with other players. After cataclysm there aren't many new directions WOW can go in. But I think they might be able to get a few million more players if people could play on console (with the same characters as the pc version). I understand that it would be difficult to accomplish technologically speaking, but I think having two control schemes would keep the game fresh.

Would you want to see WOW on consoles?

EDIT: You can play WOW with an xbox controller atm btw. I've done it, and it's still fun.

EDIT EDIT: something is wrong with the poll, it won't let me correct the name for option 2

No it wouldnt work very well. Theres just too many spells, abilities, items, etc for a console control scheme to have, and even if they did somehow make it work, it would probably still be too tedious to play it.

The combat just wouldn't work, theres way to many spells, abilities items etc. I mean theres barely enough hotkeys on a keyboard as it is.

No. Having any MMO with any sort of depth in it (especially combat) on a console is, frankly, retarded. The 4-5 skills you'd be able to use instantly with a gamepad is what you get by level 6. Have you seen how many buttons there are when you get anywhere higher? All sorts of items, potions, even racial skills not even mentioning the 20 or so class ones. Nope, won't work, don't even think about it.
You can (and I have) played WOW with an Xbox controller. It's a lot different, but still playable.

Maybe you can just scratch by using a controller while leveling, but any sort of end game PVP or PVE would be impossible.

Running around spamming fireballs, sure. That's the level of gameplay you get from Runescape.
I wouldn't want to play like that all the time, but if I'm just trying to level, I would appreciate being able to play from the comfort of my couch.

No way. The controls, just for flying movement as well as combat, just wouldn't work. And the interface would be terrible for looking around character or backpack panes. You'd have to do a complete overhaul, and I doubt it would be anywhere near as good.

You just said you played it with your Xbox controller. Good for you, keep on doing that while levelling. However, that is not reason enough to port this whole game to a platform where people would literally play on the level of a retard compared to a PC player. And that's putting it lightly.
What if you had servers exclusively for xbox players? Then everyone would be on an equal level.

It wouldn't work, in my opinion - the controller's too limited in buttons form immediate access. You could have it pop up a menu, that popped up more menus, but that's going to take so damn long to do that by the time you've selected your spell/ability you're already well under attack.

Can't see WoW on a console, ever. It's built for a keyboard.

I wouldn't play it. I only really play WoW for the PvP, and even with a keyboard I have everything bound, with even more things being bound to stuff like Shift + E etc. A controller would seriously gimp a player.

Well, then you'd have servers with people not being able to take out any simple 5 man heroic dungeon, let alone do any raids, and PvP looking like a god damn joke. Fuck, the whole servers would be a joke. How would you even chat, people would just stand around in the major cities and all the channels would be completely silent except for that one asshole who bought a keyboard for his Xbox and keeps asking if he's alone on the server.
It doesn't matter, they could just be temporary servers for leveling (like battlegrounds). When you log on on a console your character is transported there, and there's only voice chat with people nearby you or in your party. You get to keep any loot or experience when you log back onto your pc.

Definitely wouldn't work that well. I know they're bringing that Superhero MMO to the PS3, but I doubt it will work that well. Besides that, in WOW you have so many abilities how are you going to use them with a controller? Just look at DA:O on the XBOX, the game was fun but the combat wasn't that great since you could only use 4 powers.
