I've noticed that the amount of WW2 games has risen in recent years. I think that the amount WW2 games should be on the decline. Yes the war was very important point in history, but I don't want another game where I blast Nazis for 6+ hours.Yes many WW2 games are very good, but maybe its about time to move on into the future a bit more. Call of Duty 4 was a good step forward then Call of Duty World at war was, in my view a step back. Futuristic war games need to stay on the rise and just let history be for the text books; its time to keep looking towards the future of war games and not keep delving into the the very dated past.

There should be more WWII games if they are good, and creative. World at War was a decent WWII game, but it wasn't especially creative. There need to be more creative, original WWII games, using different perspectives and/or scenarios.

no the game series featuring WW2 has gone on longer that the actual war itself. its time that America stops recreating WW2 games and stick to modern and futurestic war fair

Actually, I think WW2 games hit their peak a while back, and have been dying off ever since. WaW is one of the only recent ones I can think of, and that's pretty much just a clone of CoD4.

Yes, but only if they are unique and original. I'm tired of Call of Duty: . There is that game called Scarlet Knight, or something along those lines where you play as a female assasin. That's pretty cool if you ask me!

Velvet Assassin I believe is the name. I still enjoy CoH, and can't wait for the new expansion pack, but I won't ever pick up another WW2 FPS game ever, I have had my share of fun killing the Nazi ghosts over and over again, I can only hope developers would bother on using their creativity more to create more original and fun FPS games, at least for 2009 :)

I prefer modern set games then that of WWII ones, however COD5 did surprise me. The main reason for that was that I wasn't American Soldier #73852632341 but a Russian soldier and their attack on Berlin. I am not against WWII games, as long as they can change up the settings and show more then one side. Oh, and I prefer the more darker style of COD5 as opposed to the previous ones.

I think that WW 2 games are not bad, CD WAW wasnt bad because they took a different look on things. I would say that people are not tired of WW2 games they are tired of everything being the same.

YAY!!!! We get to storm Normandy agai..... AWWW Damn Normandy....

I agree with most other people here, the world war 2 aspect of the games isn't whats been beaten to death and back its that same repetitive war fps style that everyone has played a thousand times. The setting wouldn't bother me at all if the game was innovative or at least had some original gameplay.

My vote is yes, but not because I enjoy them much myself these days. Many of these games still manage to rake in absolute mountains of cash - and that simple fact alone is the reason that develops will (and should) continue to make them.

I love WW2 games when they have bad german language(not in terms of curses but in terms of bad grammar and vocabulary) in it.

I have had it with WWII games. Clubbing Nazis with M-1 Garands and Thompsons are only interesting for so long. COD4 is by far my favorite war game for its more current setting, and nothing bummed me out more than seeing COD5 being set, once again, in WWII. Maybe in a year or two I'll go back to it, but for now, I need something new.

Wolfenstein's approach to WWII is better than most, what with there being futuristic cyborgs in the 1940s in there, but I still think that the US should get over WWII.

No more WW2 games, at least for a few years. I can't bear to play CoH because of the setting. If you HAVE to do WW2, at least do some part of it that hasn't been done to death, such as the African front or the Japanese expansion (without the Pacific). And leave Normandy alone for Christ's sake!

Also, why don't people make more WW1 games? It's almost virgin soil!

It's pretty much shoot, cover, wait for health to come back (or if they decide to go realist: Your stomach hanging out of you), repeat.

The only WW2 games I can think of that I really liked offhand are Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory and Steam's Day of Defeat.

Every other one just seems really repetitive

I'd personally prefer futuristic war games or sci-fi war games, like Crysis, rather than WW2 games, because of the more interesting weapons and technology. I played Medal of Honor AA and Battlefield 1942 but they bored me after a while.

So I voted no.
