I was fairly unimpressed with both line-ups to be perfectly honest, the only game amongst all of them that caught my attention was Dead Rising 3, and...
Well, let's give you some perspective here first. I've been an avid fan of Dead Rising since the day I played the first. I've happily supported every release that has been put out because of how much I enjoyed the wacky fun zombie game that didn't take itself too seriously and gleefully handed me the tools to handle the undead hordes in whatever way I chose to, enjoyed countless hours with this creative and absurdly over-the-top world.
I've been anticipating Dead Rising 3 since I first beat 2, my levels of excitement over the franchise only rose after I completed Case West. When I saw the thumbnail for the Dead Rising 3 game play video while watching the Ryse play though my heart skipped a beat in excitement, I couldn't get my mouse cursor to that thumbnail fast enough, finally I was going to get to see something that I knew would excite me and absolutely make my day.
Then I finished the video.
I now want to see Dead Rising crash and burn with the faceless company that they've sold their souls to. Crash, burn, and disintegrate entirely. This franchise is dead, consumed by blind marketing and changed entirely, having thrown its soul away to appeal to a large demographic that tells marketing it wants dark and gritty serious games only because they don't want to be judged by their peers for enjoying light-hearted and often times wacky games.
At this point Microsoft could roll out the single greatest launch line-up to have ever graced a console, the games library to end all games libraries, something that would cause Sony and Nintendo to collapse to the floor and weep at their own inadequacy when compared to this unparalleled pillar of entertainment...
And I would still purchase a Playstation 4 alone purely out of spite. Microsoft has driven a once loyal supporter into the arms of their enemy, and they have nobody but themselves to blame. Nothing more needs to be said.
