See, I TOLD you all that ponies are a bad thing. I TOLD you that this stuff was contagious. But NOOOOOOO. You just had to go keep on posting your little abominations, didn't you?

Just kill it now, and let everyone move on.
See, now this is where I'm going to start laughing. Not because of your calling our little cuties 'abominations', not because I'm about to post the obligatory 'You made Fluttershy cry' pic (which I'm not btw), but rather it's because it's precisely this type of post that keeps these threads alive.

No really.

So, thank you for proving a previous point of mine. And also thank you for keeping the thread on the front page and bringing more people to the herd.

You deserve a huggle.

The lack of Derpy in the polls is disturbing...
I know, wheres the Derpy love?
I'm quite amused that my initial post in the thread has started up such a discussion.

This pleases Derpy Hooves.
And thus disaster is averted.

I don't know about you bronies, but I'd rather not be hit by a falling anvil, followed by a piano.
Anvils and pianos would be the least of our worries.
that's not Derpy

that's a one of Nightmare Moon's Doppelgängers

but fear not, for the true Derpy is coming to the rescue

with some Touhou chick with her

Derpy is like a force of nature. She is impartial and her powers are great. Accidents do happen.

Come on now people. We've had our fun, but the venerable MarkusWolfe has made his point clear. Let us acquiesce lest he cast us all into the fiery pits of Pony Hell.
When he told us to skullfuck ourselves with a kitchen knife, we knew he was the one destined to bring our tomfoolery crashing into the dark torture pits of Nightmare Moon.

Until he got put on probation. That shit was hilarious.

and when nobody looks, she's a superhero

(yeah, that's a little something I came up with a friend, having B'Tx being some sort of Ironman styled armor that Derpy wears, and Robot Unicorn also being an armor that Rarity wears.... yeah, it's pretty complicated XD)

Penguins of Madagascar?!?! Good gods that shit is horrible....though...that might be because of the Dutch dub. I freakin' hate dubs. They totally ruined Eek the Cat.

But you're forgetting about the 90's period, when Cartoon Network reigned supreme. Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Animaniacs, Dexter's Lab...good times. There are some hidden gems nowadays though, like Avatar The Last Airbender (a show that treats children like actual people!), Invader Zim and erm....ummm...that's it I guess. Well and MLP of course.
POM has Johnny Bravo's VA(Jeff Bennett) as one of the four penguins. How can this be bad?

So why is it bad? I'm genuinely curious. It has great voice acting, is well written, has good animation, hilarious characters, and some good references.

and I miss Invader Zim, Courage, Dexter's Lab, and Johnny B a lot. :(
Never really liked Avatar. I would watch it, but only if nothing else was on.

Yeah, we don't have that here, we've got Dutch dubs here which are atrocious and ruin everything. They started dubbing cartoons in the early 2000's instead of subbing. It's how I started learning English in the first place. Somehow they didn't get that lots of 90's cartoons had all kinds of clever, hidden jokes and references that just don't translate to any other language. Many-a joke was absolutely ruined in Eek the Cat.

As for Avatar, it's good in a different way than those good ol' 90's cartoons. It isn't known for it's clever, dirty jokes, hidden from the children who make due with old-school slapstick, but for it's fantastic characterisation. To really appreciate it to it's fullest it must be watch as a whole, in order. It's a downside of character pieces, but at the same time one of the strong points. It gives one episode in particular, Tales of Ba Sing Se, such a fantastic emotional impact. Made me plink away a tear.

It takes mature themes and tells them in such a way that children can understand them, but without toning it down or simplifying it. It doesn't talk down to children in any way, and by doing that the themes presented are appealing to both children and adults. I am honestly, deeply impressed by how they managed to do that. It's an incredibly rare thing to see, and it's one of the few Western cartoons that ever made me pink away a tear. I have deep respect for the people behind this cartoon.

That and it has an awesome tripping scene:
And I also must add that it has some of the coolest fight choreography I've ever seen.

Ahh, so you don't hate the show, just the dubbed version? I recommend acquiring the English version...

And then you have King Julien... I'm amazed his entire character has made it past the censors. One episode he refers to his rear as his "maker of money".

"I will now begin shaking my maker of money"
"No please, not in my money maker!"

And yeah, I got most of that about Avatar. I still just didn't like it that much.

This is a really obnoxious FAD that all these impressionable young sheep are latching onto.

The maturity level has gone down dramatically on the escapist lately.

Off-topic is mostly, "Recommend me an Anime" or ,"what is favorite MLP SQUEEEEEEEE?!"

So obnoxious. 2 Thumbs down.
Making sweeping generalizations and condemning a show's fanbase as mindless sheep is hardly what I'd call "mature," and it's a hell of a lot more obnoxious than any of the anime/pony threads I've seen on here.

Not making accurate observations about how AWESOME PONIES ARE!
Fixed that up for you.
Yeah, you missed a spot.

Again, I must thank you for keeping this thread going. It's very generous seeing as you hate it and all. Oh, and did you pick your favourite Pony yet? Because I'm sure you like Pinkie Pie the best. Or is it Rarity? She's got a fabulous demeanor about her that I see sparklings of in your posting style here, is she your favourite Pony?

Your dislike of amazing character pieces exquisitly made for all generations with deep combat choreography makes Derpy incredibly sad.
I cry with you Derpy, I really do. I'll leave you with the moment that made me tear up, in wich they simultaniously honour the death of Iroh's voice actor and deeply enrichen Iroh's character:
Damn that's beautiful... But it really has to be followed to be properly appreciated. If you only got the occasional episode, a lot is lost indeed.

Anyway, as for POM, yeah that doesn't sound too shabby. "Not in the money maker!" While not as vile as Animaniacs (fingering Prince anyone?), yeah it's something they got that passed the censors. Don't really get the "cough and turn" one though.

I don't know any ponies so I voted for the name I liked most which was Fluttershy.

But upon googling them I would say I like Rainbow Dash more.

I would think that Rarity would be a lot more popular with girls. Girls want to be Rarity and have a Fluttershy friend....or not, I don't know. Interestingly in 'boy' cartoons the Rarity archetype is usually evil or just a complete ***** that doesn't know her place.

I watched a couple clips of this show.

Its exactly like i expected. Its a kids showed made for 7-12 year old girls. Thats not an opinion either. Its a fact.

Outside of decent animation theres really no redeeming qualities. Its just a cartoon. Nothing more.

A cartoon for 7-12 year girls. Did i mention that yet?
*Yawn* Second time I get to post this in this thread.

Read the second paragraph of the larger post. Let the show's creator tell you how wrong you are.

Oh, and thank you for reminding us that you don't like the show. It keeps the thread alive and more are added to the herd because of it.

Care for a Brohoof moment?
