He is a dinosaur/dragon thing. I have never even though of him as a turtle, ever.

He is a large lizard with a saddle on his back. He is not a dragon. Dragons don't do the tongue thing, as Mushu would say.

He is a Lizard. (Arguably a Dinosaur, as no lizards in todays world walk on 2 hind legs)

Except lots of them do...

Lashtail Lizard is the main one, but I remember reading about at least 3 others that run on their hind legs when I looked that one up awhile ago.

OT: Yoshi is a Dinosaur that evolves Bird/Dragon/Fat parts when he holds certain shells in his mouth. He has also been known to spit Juice...

Yoshi can just stand their on his hind legs and run and jump. As far as i'm aware no living lizard today can do that, they can only stand / balance on hind legs whilst running.
