I'd have to say dinosaur that evolved from a turtle.

It is obvious that early on, maybe a million or so years ago, the yoshi people had bigger shells to protect them from predators.

But they eventually evolved to grow larger in size with longer tongues and the shell became unused.

Over a million years of evolution, the shell eventually shrank down to what it is now with the proud yoshi bouncing around eating people alive. then laying eggs...

He is a large lizard with a saddle on his back. He is not a dragon. Dragons don't do the tongue thing, as Mushu would say.

He is a Lizard. (Arguably a Dinosaur, as no lizards in todays world walk on 2 hind legs)

Basilisks walk on their hind legs. Granted, not all the time, but they do. There's also a lizard in Australia, I think, that will occasionally rear up and chase other animals on its hind legs.
