...But, you can choose what race you are born into. Which do you choose? P.S, this means you also get reunited into the army (Unless you go Renegade), and have full memories of what was before you died in the previous life.

Me?

Renegade! I will be able to do anything I want, and I will have my own spaceship, plus, steal from the space marines! (They have good weapons!)

I don't see Necrons on this.

Therefore it is invalid.

Extremely belated edit - Yay, Necrons!

If you go renegade, you won't have a ship. If you somehow get a ship, you won't have a crew. If you somehow get a crew, you will all be killed if you try to steal from Space Marines. There's no "if you somehow" for this. You would die.

Besides, who wouldn't want to be an Ork? ITZ KRUMPIN' TIME!

How about, if you...Join an army, and then pilot a ship, then get the hell out of dodge!

Renegade, i'll do what the hell i like, i'll be a mercanary. Then if i am still alive and loaded with cash i'll travel to a remote corner of space, find a planet for myself and build a super-fortress.

Homoerotic Space Elves for the lose. (sorry, had to =p )

Now that Necrons are properly represented on this list, I vote for the quasi-immortal living robots. With Rail Guns.

Cool! Now, choose how you want to die!

A.)Murdered by Orks
B.)Burned by Space Marines
C.)Corrupted by Chaos
D.)Eaten by Tyranids
E.)Dissolved by Necrons

If the most badass soldiers can't survive in this universe when they're backed by an entire fucking army, what makes you guys think you can possibly make it as mercenaries?

OT: An Imperial Guardsmen. I will be killed by the Commissar for being a coward.

Human.

More precisely, a Rogue Trader.

All the advantages of going Renegade, backed up by the wealth and might of the Imperium of Man.

You get reincarnated into the 40K universe ... you poor bastard.

3rd edition Tau, when they were still positive, optimistic and weren't being painted as brainwashing space-communists. At least their society wasn't depicted as being an absolute nightmare, unlike everyone else.

Sign me up for the Tau, ignorance is bliss.

They wha? Hmmm, I've not seen anything since 3rd edition...meh, I'll stick with it, I'd rather be brainwashed and happy and anything else in the 40k universe (by a long shot).

Again, I've not read much lore for a while, but didn't the necrons get le raped by the old ones? Pretty sure they aren't exactly able to enjoy any aspect of their "life"...

Eldar, deffinitely Eldar.

All the Hempahrodites and Warp Cider I can handle, and we get to be kickass Space Pirates.

Renegades, I can definitely choose there. I could then basically get the best of all worlds. If I ever feel like being a bit decadent (hah, only a bit?) then I can hang with the Dark Eldar, otherwise I can sort of navigate between everyone and stay in everyone's good books or whatever. I'd be like a Warhammer version of the Serenity crew... (except without an Alliance-style group bearing down on me...)

I get reincarnated in Wankhammer? FUCK THAT SHIT!

Gotta go with destroying the universe, then. Even Tau and Orks more or less suck.

Though you know what would be awesome? Reappear in 40k... as a Lombax. Preferably with a few hundred buddies and a cache of fancy technology. Then we'd impose our dominion over a new galaxy and make it do a U-turn in terms of mood. Yes, Lombaxes are cool enough to lighten up even penultimate World Half Empty.
