I'd just live with it. It wouldn't even be that much of a change, I'm not really using the genitalia I have now.

Actually sort of depends. Am I the same gender (Biologically), do I have the same 'body' I did before just with some extra bits added? If so, I'd try to get fixed immediately.
If I woke up with a different body entirely, I'd happily live with it because it's sort of a wish of mine. I don't like my current one.

*Romoves bed sheets*
Something's a bit odd today... can't quite put my finger on i--
*Looks down*
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Well, I'd just roll with it untill my idiocy de-activated and I try to get my "old one" back.

PS : Since I'm now a guy with a vag, does that make me homosexual/transsexual? Because, I have no idea how that works. Or, now that I'm "biologically" female (The main difference between sexes is the sex-organs), would that make me lesbian? I'm so confused!!

Sounds like a Lovecraft video situation.
I'd hope I wake up with my former genitals.

Live with it, and test some of my girlfriend's prototype toy designs when she gets hold of some clay, silicone, and other molding materials.

Id say adapt, A healthy person has two sides to their coin (mind you that dosent mean you dont prefer heads over tails) but you are capable of living with either side of the toss. Odds are what i see is some people dont have the two side effect or feel that their tails side is "incomplete" or "not fully themselves". Cant blame um for thinking that but its out of their control since society has a way of enforcing gender roles.

Personally I have a preference to female, just a nasty case of vanity and jealousy I suppose but it is my own. Dosent mean i cant be happy as a male but heaven forbid i woke up as a full-female odds are id be happy with it (and have alot of explaining to do). But if you take the time to truly figure yourself out nothing of any importance changes between the genders. Your personality and "playstyle" only slightly vary due to social gender-roles.

So to make my opinion simpler:
Healthy souls can survive as any gender (and possibly any species)

Your soul may have a preference due to social roles/vanity/ect.

All their is to do in your life is be happy, so if you absolutely cant be happy one way, I guess its worth the risk.

And lastly be genuine to yourself, dont waste your life lieing to yourself out of safety or fear.

Edit: Also something else to throw in, your host (your body) does not determine who you are, you should be the one to determine how your host looks. But obviously somethings are not controllable yet. Take care of your host regardless of its gender, dont be one of those people who "I hate my body, why should i take care of it", because its your body. It may need some extensive work to look the way you want it too but it is still yours.

Im sure there wouldnt be too many of these issues if we had a cost-effective and reasonable means to mold DNA and form our body like a video game character customization screen.

I think people who change genders are usually seen by psychiatrists before operating, to make sure they're mentally ready for it.

I'd live with it, but I'd rather stay fully male, or be fully female. Having my hairy masculine body with a vagina would not be appealling - my girlfriend certainly wouldn't like it.

So wait, Everything's the same, except genitalia?

Well, that just sucks. It's hard enough getting a date without this adding on.

A full-on gender flip I could live with (like that guy that said he'd make a better gay woman than a straight man), but this halfway business would be for the birds.

or should I say...
AN ALBATROSS?!?!

Joking aside OT: Would it be a complete gender overhaul or would it just be the genitals? Cause if it's complete bodily change then I'd see how the otherside live for a short while before begining my quest to change back. And do... some other stuff... yea some other stuff... But if it's only the genitals then this is what would happen:
Step 1: NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Step 2: "Get mai *censored* back" The real life story about a man and how he got his stuff back together.

Yea, I'm going to leave now.

Here's the thing, even no matter what we think, we can't know what we would do unless we were actually in that situation.

I think they do need help, but not the kind of help you're thinking of. They need acceptance. Transgender is a glitch in the brain that makes people feel uncomfortable with their gender, so they take on a different one. It's up to them if they want to go all the way.

If they can "cure" transgendered people through drugs, some might sign up. But I doubt it would work in the long run. Anyway, my point is, don't force them into it.
I'm not saying transgendered people shouldn't be accepted. They absolutely should be treated with as much respect and dignity as anybody. That is a given. The same can be said for people that cut off their limbs because they feel like it. I just can't help but feel that that "glitch" in the brain can't be fixed by learning to accept yourself for who you are. Much like the expression "cutting off your nose to spite your face," it seems unnecessary, dangerous, and injurious to the person doing it.

And the argument that it's a "real" thing in the brain, well, nothing psychological is technically real. It's actions that matter. The point I'm trying to make is that most people would probably learn to live with their body. People who become paralyzed are forced to do this. If a person can mentally overcome the horror of not being able to move, it seems like another person could live with the fact they were born with a penis.

Well, will I look like a girl (a hot one at that), or will I still look like a guy but with a vagina?

If it is the former, I think I might keep it.
If its the latter, I will definitely go for a sex change.

Well that would suck, i really don`t see myself becoming a pretty girl unless my whole body changes, if not i would get rid of my newly found boobs and spend my life alone. Well at least i wouldn't have to worry about getting kicked in the balls.

I lol'ed.

OT: I would immediately try to get them removed and my own.. er, reinstated. I'm a woman; I was born a woman, I live like a woman, I feel like a woman, I like being a woman. Basically, trying to be anything else would be impossible and distressing to the extreme.

Also - and I'm not sure if this is relevant because you haven't mentioned if we're talking about just the cosmetic dangly bits or actual reproductive organs/hormones - as a woman I have the capacity to have a baby (IKR? Shock!), and that's pretty effin' huge, let me tell you. I've felt that way since I was 13 and my body started pumping out hormones. I've got no plans to have one any time soon, but if anything changed my ability to do it then I'm fairly certain it would ruin my life.

I've often wondered how transgendered people feel about their ability to start families; if you were born a man but changed to a woman, is it distressing that you can't carry a baby? Or in cases like Scott Moore's [http://articles.nydailynews.com/2010-01-26/news/17943275_1_pregnant-man-paper-reports-scott-moore], how to you balance something as inherently female as being pregnant with your desire to live like a man?

I don't know... I am a sprinter, and it would be nice to wear those thights without having the thing that bounces back and forth when I'm running. It would also be nice to ride a bicycle without it, and I could experiment with putting different things into my new parts.

The sex though...

For some reason I think I'd want to do a shemale. Sadly, I don't think they'd be easy to find where I come from.

I'm a guy, but I'm also not very masculine. Waking up as a woman wouldn't bother me overmuch, although it might freak out my room mate a bit.
