If you are to end 1 clishee in all of video games what would it be...Just imagine theres a game that has ALL of the listed clishees and you are the only sane person in the development team...

I think the OP means "Lives System" i.e. having a set number of Lives like from SNES and arcade days.

I personally went for Graphics over Gameplay, mostly because I'm sick of tired, brown shooters strait from the Unreal Engine with little to no effort WHAT so ever.

Just a tip, though, make sure everything in the poll, OP, and title is spelled correctly. i.e. It's cliche, not "clishee" and graphics, not "graphicks."

The losing all abilites cliche. Not because I have to find them again, but because of the shit way this is usually implemented (I'm looking at you Samus Aran).

As much as I love the genre (or sub-genre, I guess), there's a lot of jRPG cliches that could be tossed on the scrapheap. The main girl should use something other than a staff or bow, and why does the main guy always have to use a sword? I'd like some variety sometime.

The damn infinite respawning enemies can be fun if the player is given the choice to activate it. When it's not it can make a game or part of a game impossible.

Graphics over gameplay should definitely be forgotten, but I voted for losing all of your abilities. It's just silly and just pads the game.

Ach...It's a tie between QTE and cliffhangers. I hate both so much i can't choose.

I will go with cliffhangers that doesn't get any closeure.

I have to decide between lives, graphics over gameplay and infinitly respawning enemies??
I guess infinite respawns is the one that annoys me most constantly, even though the other ones are simply stupider as ideas.

graphics over gameplay, the easiest choice ever. Granted QTEs are a pain, and infinite enemies can be abused by developers. Then theres always the cliff hangers leaving a series open for a sequel which is never made, but the graphics over gameplay one is easily the greater of the collective evils.

I'd rather have a blocky almost primative display with story telling powerful enough to make me actually feel for the character than an explosively pretty 2 hours of story. I.e. I'd take FF7 over FF13.

All of those things can be either good or bad, depending on context. With the exception of quicktime events, which could add to a game, but it's difficult to imagine how, and as a general rule don't. So im going to pick the only thing on the list that can really be said to be more negative then positive.

The "Spamm B to open this door" thingi. Its annoying as fuck, and id personally brutally murder every developer that thought it was a good idea to put it in their game if i could.

You know, if you really think about it, Sequels are usually where you find the best games. Even if you were to only count sequels that come after Cliffhangers, the last 2 games I have played have been Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2. I won't call them Crappy, or in it for the money any more then any other video game.

My choice of insta-kills/pit falls is heavily influenced by the fact I'm currently playing Half Life. It may have introduced new and innovative forms of in-game story telling, but bloody hell it's still rooted in the worst elements of 90s FPS level design.

The fuck is a "clishee"? If I had to guess, it's some archaic spelling of "cliche". Your outdated language is outdated, sir.

That said, Losing All of your Abilities. I hate playing RTSs for that very reason; they're an assload of fun until the last hour you spent optimizing your fucking Marauder-to-Firebat ratio on your strike team somehow fades from existence.
