I've been on a bit of a fitness craze recently, as some of my old flab as come creeping back.
This led me to buy a big ass bag of oats and search Google endlessly for tips and the like.
I'm not pathetic...
Anywho, while looking on Google, I found and article about "Somatypes" or your general body shape and ability to stay fit or not so fit.
I quickly found that I was cursed by genetics. Thanks, dad. For those that don't know what the three main Somatypes are, I'll give a brief rundown:
There's the Ectomorph: These are the people who can eat whatever they please and are always able to stay fit and active throughout most of their lives. They're generally small framed people.
Then the Mesomorph: A bit of a natural athletic who finds it easy to gain muscle or fat, and losing muscle or fat isn't a problem either. A couple months of training and a good overall diet can put these guys in the best shape of their lives. Most of your average "jocks" would fit into this category. They usually have shoulders broader than the rest of their body.
And of course, there's the Endomorph: We endomorphs are naturally fat and find it difficult to lose that fat. Thankfully, there is a light at the end of this tunnel, a strict low fat, low calorie diet coupled with regular cardiovascular exercise and intense weight lifting can put you into great shape in a year or two. Nobody said it would be easy.
It's also not uncommon to be a mix between the two, maybe you're an Ecto/Meso, or and Endo/Meso.
So using this information, what do you find your body type is? I'm a bit between Endomorph and Mesomorph. So I'm naturally fat, but can get into shape generally easier than a pure Endomorph.
