Since I'm int the "I want to live" mood, i would have to say WW3.
At least in that scenario some of us would survive...

I'd go with a Fascist/Totalitarian/Similar Empire taking over. Nobody wants one. It would be a constant civil war until nothing is left but the atomised remains of the last few fighters. After all, if a totalitarian empire took over EVERYTHING it would be impossible to get them out. It would also be impossible for them to keep control. Eventually this mad paradox would wipe everyone out. Or at least leave too little survivors to repopulate.

Unless there locked in a bunker with facilities to keep them living like in "Fallout". Two-Headed cows are fuckin A!!!

A mixture of many elements. It is too gliche to have an apocolyptic scenario with only one major cause. For me, it has to be caused by a massive chain of events.

The cult of Cthulu comes out of the sea razing the land for their king as the big squid himself rises from the depths invoking extreme terror and madness wherever he goes. Would be pretty damn climatic.

I would have to go with something with a little bit more on mythical side. Ragnarok would be a cool way to go. But since I get to paint this fantasy, I'm taking it my way.

I would want a sudden appearance of magic and other mythical abilities, along with monsters, ending in an epic showdown that leaves civilization in ruin. An almost typical jRPG plot, I guess.

While zombies are tempting...I would have to go with a weird worldwide signal that causes people's heads to explode randomly...that would make for suspense!

One minute you're fine, the next *suitably graphic cranial explosion*...very dramatic!

World War 3, know why? Because technology is already almost at the point of power-armor (a la fallout, battletech, etc.). So after the world is mostly destroyed that same technology will most likely continue to exist. Genetic manipulation, super-powered technology and whatnot, hey the world may be gone but at least there's some nifty gadgets laying around.

My vote is for hostlile alien take-over. And they use the best of us to mate with their sexy blue mass-effect-like women. Dieing from a sex induced heart-attack on some alien planet would be the way to go, me thinks.

Personally I'm gonna go with some sort of AI going rogue and raising up a robot army. It's a lot more interesting than zombies (which have been done to death, if you'll pardon the pun).
