It amazes me how many people try to correct your own opinion. It's almost like they're saying, "you're entitled to your own opinion, but here's how you did it wrong." Also I can't figure out what the big deal is about Gordon Freeman, I played half-life and half-life 2 and I didn't really like him.

OT: My vote is for Link, mainly because the one time he had a voice in a game, it made me want to dig out my own eardrums with a screwdriver.

You need an other option and an option for GORDON MOTHERFUCKING FREEMAN. All the ones listed I couldn't really care for.

Um... My favorite would have to be the Fot (of Zoq-Fot-Pik). In The Ur-Quan Masters.

"Does that guy in the back ever say anything?"

"Nope. Not a word."

I have it torn between Isaac Clarke, Chell from Portal, Jack from Bioshock and the Rookie from ODST. Largely though I'm going to go with the Rookie because he's in an understandably dangerous situation alone behind enemy lines trying to piece things together by himself. Isaac is sort of the same, being haunted by visions of a loved one so I can get an idea of how he must be feeling. Chell and Jack also have certain complex motivations based around who they are and what their origins are, given that Jack was created in a science experiment and Chell just wakes up one day in a lab.
So yeah, those are my favourites.
Chell?

You learn absolutely nothing about her. The thing that made Portal great was GLaDOS and the Portal mechanic. The fact that she doesn't speak at all makes her seem even less human to me, as if I was in her situation I would be yelling abuse at GLaDOS. A lot.

Glad she didn't though, would get annoying.

Link in the TV show, every time he said "Excuse me Princess" made me want to rip out my heart and eat my soul. Though his line there made a great line for many Parody shows like Stupid Mario Brothers. Though the Line for Mario Games "Your princess is in another castle" did piss us of in the games, also made a great line for shows like... THERE WILL BE BRAWL.

Revan..... actually is there a non speaking person besides morgan free(no wait he said prepare for unseen consequences)....

ok so is there actuall a such thing as a non-speaking character because most of the characters on the list talk.

Jak - talks in 2-X but hey - hunsha? Could mean I kick you in people without tongue language.
Mario, Link, dog - there will be brawl and apocolypse lane.... hahaha no, some gunts and noises (or barks) but you said mario no grunts so i quote "its a me mario"
Yoshi - like all pokemon, he can say his own name.
Red - red was suppose to be the game version of Ash from the TV show and also in the staduim games for the n64 he says "I choose ...." but if your gonna get on my ass that its red as in red/blue well then he takes the cake for video game shut up because well no one except the pokemon talk in that game. Well almost everyone, maybe some of the people who sit around all day waiting to make a b line torwards someone, but can your really identify them as people.

But from the list I'm going with Jak.... props to mario and link but I don't think of link as a person anymore, just some tale about a her who save a princess but unlike mario the story changed everytime. its like a bed time story told through the ages, people tend to for get the details.... monsters, towns, timetravel, aliens, TRAINS!

Mario was more like a game to pass the time, I have a princess and .... Ok I can't resist.... we had a fight last night and I need you to kid nap her and set a challenge in head of me knowing that I can do it, so that I can save her and she won't be mad at me. ;) P.S. I will own you biznitchs in tennis today, yu may have won on the tracks but we will have our revenge wuahahahahahahaha.

Jak. Mainly because in the first game, he doesn't speak but still manages to be pretty cool and the game is still great (and takes me back to the classic Spyro and Crash games, before the still good but slightly mediocre PS2 versions). And in the second game onwards, Jak speaks yet still manages to be awesomely cool, the games are even better, and he's much more badass. God, how I regret selling my copies of 1 and 2... (though when I eventually get my own PS2 on the cheap rather than having to use the family one that I can only play when home for holidays, I'll definitely buy them all again :D).

The hero from Fable, he has whatever personality you want him to have. So, in my case he's a fat crossdresser who drinks too much and regularly craps his pants.
Barring that choice, Mario.

I always liked cpl Shephard. Don't know why; it's not like he had anymore personality than Gordon (which is to say none at all).
