Squirtle ended up being the most effective, but Charmander will always have a spot in my heart.

Charmander was also my first Pokemon card, you see, even before I knew what Pokemon was. ^^

I was a bit sad that there was no love for the fire monkey. He throws FLAMING POO, what else do you want? Mudkip is cool, too, especially after it evolves.

I get rid of my starters too. If I get my way, in Platinum, the fire monkey is gonna go get lost while I replace him with Thyplosion.

I think Gold/Silver/Crystal are the only games where I didn't take my starter out fo the part at some point.

'Cause he was my first Pokemon ever and you can get Thunderpunch as a TM in GSC.

Totodile, because Feraligatr is so freaking awesome. He's so awesome he gets to drop a letter. Plus Return always did a butt load of damage with him.

Seriously though, Blaziken for it's cool looks, but in usefulness Ruby/Sapphire wise, it's got to be Swampert, awesome E4 killer (Surf, Ice Beam, Brick Break and ofc Earthquake).

Exactly, starts out adorable, then grows into a badass dragon, that's why he's my favorite.

For me it's fire all the way and i just can't get enough of those starters also they're one of the most useful late game(usually) although I like all starters not a single one I don't wanna own.
