Raul Alfonso Tejada and Craig Boone.

Raul because he is a badass grandpa with a sarcastic streak a mile long and he is deadeye with a revolver.

Craig Boone because... Well, he's a woobie and who doesn't like a woobie? That and he's a true bro if you support NCR or are independent.

Its better to get repair to 100, or at least... What was it, 75? Because JURY RIGGING.

I fucking love that perk. Whoever made that perk is awesome and deserves a raise. Repair a weapon or piece of apparel with something completely different that happens to be in the same class? Such as an Anti-Materiel Rifle with a Varmint Rifle, both being bolt-action? Sign me up. Now.

How.... in the hell of it, is Veronica not at the very top?

Veronica was like, the best, most interesting character in that whole freaking game.

EXPLAIN!
People apparently prefer firing squads over the meat shield and ranged fighter combo that I normally use. Let Veronica get in their face so I get the extra second to remove it from their shoulders.

I was expecting it to be Veronica in the lead with Boone or ED-E trailing for second.

Boone. I just point at an enemy and their head explodes. "Hey, Boone! Fuck that guy up!" and blam!!! Off goes his head! Fuck that guy!

Although, it's annoying when I'm trying to collect those bandit heads...

But I like ED-E as my robot companion.

God, I couldn't even vote. They were all awesome in their own ways.

ED-E: Great starter companion, useful in combat and a catchy battle theme.
Boone: Fantastic sniper with a great perk and a heartbreaking backstory.
Veronica: Hilarious to talk to and awesome to see her punch someone and see them explode! :D
Arcade: Rather tragic, but still pretty funny character. And hates the Legion. Who doesn't love that?
Rex: Cyber dog. Need I say more?
Cass: Useful perk, fits the cowboy theme, funny, and easy on the eyes.
Lily: Just fucking hilarious and out there.
Raul: Sarcastic and also fitting the cowboy theme. Awesome.

I only wish that you got to see your companions interact with each other. That would have been awesome! When I learned that I could send them all to the Lucky 38, I was excited to see how they would interact with each other. They didn't. :(

Just think of how they'd talk to each other! Boone wouldn't trust anyone except the Currier, and maybe Cass since she's NCR. Veronica would get along with everybody but Cass and Boone, since they're kind of jerks. Arcade would always be looking at ED-E suspiciously. Lily would be in love with Raul, but he'd be afraid of Lily since what had happened with Tabitha. Just think of all of the possibilities!

Why does everyone love boone? I found his backstory meh, his attitude annoying and his perk OP.

OT: I thought all of the companions were dull cheese, but I liked Veronica for getting me into the BOS and for being played by Felicia day XD

Boone is easily the very best fallout out new vegas character. Actually, Lily was awesome too. I nearly forgot about her.

Jury rigging was a repair of 90, and well worth it, but for weapons it was more efficient to have pack rat and repair kits, with a repair of 100 you could fix any weapon +90% with 1.5 units of weight, 3 units without pack rat. Hell, repair kits are how I make money if I'm flat broke, I buy some POS heavy weapon for a few hundred caps, drop three kits on it and sell it for several thousand. Shit lets you rake in the cash.

Ah, ok. Well, I don't remember if I could ever get Pack Rat, since I'm fairly sure that it requires Barter and POSSIBLY luck. Though don't quote me on that, because I'm not sure. Barter was always one of the last skills I ever put points into, while Luck and Charisma were both S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes that got shafted and downgraded to 1.

My character didn't NEED Luck or Charisma: She just needs a good gun.

But, I had a similar approach to my gameplay, since I relied on both Jury Rigging AND Repair Kits, which I hoarded by the hundreds, thanks to Dead Money. I'd always keep ten on me, and a few on ED-E, mainly because my companions were both excellent fire support, but also handy pack mules.

I always shafted Strength, but that's because the stats to get Pack Rat were minimal for how I play and the perk itself basically gave me double my storage space. Then again, I refuse to play on anything other than hardcore any more, so Pack Rat is really non-negotiable as far as perks go, I need it to tone down my ammo and food weight. (I run Project Nevada too, food is a lot more important with that on.)

Ah, well I'm too 'casual' to really find the idea of hardcore fun, but thats just me. That, and I play on the 360, so mods aren't really an option.

As for the attributes that I always focus on, Intelligence, Agility, and Strength were musts.

So, really, my couriers always ended up as strong, acrobatic soldiers that were extremely smart, but generally not the kind of person you wanted to be around unless you needed something shot, repaired, or healed. After all, Medicine, Guns, and Repair were my three mainstays.

Hardcore's really not all that hardcore IMO, it needed a push into harder territory, that's where PN comes into play, it makes the whole game a hell of a lot harder to deal with, and it also makes nerfing any stat below 5 incredibly risky due to buff decreases. I don't really have a 'main' set of skills though, my first few levels are spent book hunting, I usually cap everything by level 30. Consider the fact that I have all of the DLC and I'm pretty well just a bruiser for everything come the endgame. Now I just need to find a way to get my health higher, PN makes you have a set health value based on Endurance, not a set health gain per level. Assassin squads wreck my shit at high levels if I'm not paying attention because I only have 150 HP or something like that.

Best armor in the game IMO, though she's given me a share of heart attacks while sneaking through deathclaw country....

Where's the option for "Me" and "Myself"? Y'see, I like to be stealthy with my trusty sniper rifle and make sure targets drop from one bullet. Me on the other hand enjoys Handguns and Assault Rifles with the occasional ring-a-ding from the Dinner Bell. Myself though? More a fan of energy weapons! Zap! Pew! Frazzle!

Seriously though, I prefer playing Fallout NV as a lone courier. Whenever I try to play with a companion I end up babysitting them, checking behind me every 5 seconds to make sure they don't get stuck, run off to fight a cazador off somewhere in the distance and get themselves killed and whatnot... It's just easier alone.

[sub]I can't help it, I work alone [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IWorkAlone], but I'm not a freak just because I'm a loner [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LonersAreFreaks] in Fallout![/sub]

I still find normal core Fallout to be plenty of fun for me. Anyway, as for my favorite armor, it was always the Chinese Stealth armor, or the new Elite Riot Armor. I personally love the Chinese Stealth Armor because it allows you to wear berets, and with both the Courier and Boone wearing a suit with matching berets... Its pretty damn badass.

Especially when we both have fully modified Anti-Materiel Rifles from the Gun Runners Arsenal.

I get ya, I enjoyed a few romps in the wasteland in normal mode before I tried HC, game's still fun, but the added things to keep track of and potentially roleplay add another level of depth to the game, I feel.

I know what you mean, because I'm all for role-playing in Fallout, Skyrim, and Mass Effect. Sometimes it just makes it more interesting that way.

ED-E and Veronica. ED-E because he provides good ranged support, makes a nice pet, and plays fight music right before a battle happens. As for Veronica, who doesn't like a chick with personality who can punch people's heads off?

Most of the time I don't actually take companions with me as they steal my kills (which is more a complaint about making the game way to damn easy) and when I have them I feel compelled to fill up their inventories so I spend way more time than I normally would fucking about with inventory screens and I'm so OCD that I can't stop myself.

But when I do I take ED-E because he is totally awesome. I love that little guy. He's like my own personal R2-D2. Or, I geuss T3-M4 would be more accurate.

Although, I have to say that pretty much all the companions in that game were really cool. They all had interesting personalities and stories.
