Poll: Your Favourite Greek God?

Athena, because she's a badass, she's the goddess of everything I would feel the need to ask the gods for help for if I were a Greek 2000 years ago, and it took her the longest to become petty and vindictive like the other gods.

Poseidon's pretty cool too. It seems he could make the planet blow up if he was pissed enough, and you have to respect that.

I'd have to go with Athena, 'cause when you're tasked with awarding a golden apple to a goddess, the thinking man gives it to the woman who's both good looking and smart. Aphrodite only has one of those, whereas Athena has it all...and intelligence can be sexy in its own way.

Doesn't Kratos automatically win, since he killed pretty much everyone else on the list?

I kinda like them all, though my personal favorite character in Greek mythology is Tantalus. He ain't a god though.

Also speaking of Greek Gods, I once had two Gold fish named Phobos and Deimos the sons of Ares, they died though.

I chose Poseidon. He always seemed like the least-douchiest god in the lore, though that's still not saying much. And god of the seas is friggin' hardcore.

I can't really pick and I fear it'd be false anyway 'cause there are so many interpretations of them in stories, I don't know which is right. Actually, based on many of their stories, you kinda wanna hate them all. At least for something or other.

Zeus is a man whore, who can't keep it in his pants. Hera is psycho jealous and makes the mistresses pay 'cause stupid Zeus is just too powerful for her to punish. Poseidon is a rapist. Athena created Medusa because she was punishing the rape victim. Aphrodite is a slut. Apollo tricked his sister into killing the man she loved, Orion because he was a possessive jealous bastard... Hades is just supposed to be cruel... Ares is no better, I think.

That's really all the main ones I can think of. I haven't discovered much about Hermes or Hephaestus. Except he's married to the slut. Atremis either really. One series of books has her manipulative and shit but for the old stories, I have no idea. There's Demeter and Persephone... But I know little about them much either. Seph either loves Hades or despises. The tellings always go from one to another.

Maybe I'll pick a minor God or Goddess...

Heh, very surprised, though at the same time not, that Dionysus wasn't on the list. I mean, c'mon. he drinks all day long, carries festivals where women get to dance naked and have orgies. Sure he had one male lover, but blame Zeus for putting the lad into his bed when Dionysus was drunk one night.

Athena--Goddess of Wisdom *and* the Art of Combat...and she gave us the horse...and she is awesome in every way. If I weren't an athiest, I'd be worshipping her.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this sooner: Athena wasn't the one who gave man the horse, that would be Poseidon. Just, y'know, sayin'.

Zeus is an overated pervert of the ancient Greece... he had sex with everything.. no wonder Hera became such a *****..

The biggest badass was Pluto..
Hades is the name of his domain (the underworld).. He was one of the first born of the Titans and he was so cool and dark , he didnt even bother to go to the luxurious Olympus..
He liked his privacy down in his domain..

But my favourite is Hephaestus because he looted the fire from gods and brought it to us!
After that, Zeus deformed his face..
Actually Hephaestus was a beautiful God and his wife was Aphrodite...
