As far as Greek gods go Athena was pretty good.

As far as Geek gods go, the goddess of all knowledge and wisdom, Wiki, is the one to whom I pray most regularly.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking. Hephaestus is one of the more underappreciated gods.

It seems though that a lot of the Protogenoi are both deities as well as personified things and places. Greek Geekdom ftw

Rah! Personally, I'm more Classical history geekdom FTW, but hey (I buy into to the whole Hannibal vs Scipio debate).

Anyway, you're probably right... from top to bottom it's (IIRC) Uranus, Gaia, Pontus and Tartarus (sky/earth/sea/below)... and you were right, Tartarus and Erebus were separate deities (only with interchangeable names due to common conceptuality in Hades (after a fashion)). Tartarus being the geographical place, while Erebus is sort of more akin to the Horae... or something.

My favourite greek Gods are the ones I like the pictures of best in a book of Greek myths that I own, there for, Artamis and Athena are top of the list.

I'm a fan of the story of Posephone too though, so I like her as well.

I guess I just have an affinity with that sort of female personality type.

Also, good thread, nice to see that escapists have a taste for classical literature.
