I ADORED Last Crusade. It's my favorite action/adventure movie of all time.

But to be honest, I really like crystal skull - it was good in every way, except the skull... other than that i really enjoyed it.
So, the nuclear explosion and him not only surviving the blast, but coming away from that refrigerator that was blasted in such away that an actual human's organs would have probably been liquified, didn't rub you the wrong way in the least?
I agree, the fridge was not the worst thing about that movie by a long stretch...

It didn't compare to Mutt Willaims, King of the Monkeys
The Aliens
The CGI gophers
and the fact that Indy NEVER SHOOTS ANYBODY!

I'm just curious...have you ever SEEN Raiders?

I mean, I LIKED Crystal Skull just fine, but I didn't "love" it, at least not how I loved Raiders...

Though I will admit that Raiders only JUST beats Last Crusade in my books.

I went out to buy the movies a few months ago. I only bought Raiders and Last Crusade, and there was even a sale to get all 4 for about the same price.
You see, I completely understand why you wouldn't want Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: it's a horrible, horrible film. But, and I seem to be alone in this, why does everyone hate Temple of Doom so much?

Ok, it wasn't as good as Raiders and Last Crusade, but it's still a good film. Ok, Willy and Short Round were irritating, but they didn't ruin it for me; I actually enjoyed the much darker story. It's not great, admittedly, but it's not Crystal Skull either. It's a good film that I think gets too much hate.

I rank them like this

1:last crusade
2:temple of doom
3:crystal skull
4:raiders
..... I can't see how you think that. Doom I can understand, but Raiders? It was awesome! I must go home and rethink my life... To each his own I guess.

There were only 3 Indiana Jones movies. Don't argue. There were ONLY 3 Indiana Jones movies.
And three Star Wars films. Three Terminator films too, counting Salvation.
Yah, I'm really looking forward to the day that they make prequels to the original Star Wars. Should be any time now...I'd like to see Darth Vader as Anakin and his turn to the darkside. With the right actor, it could be very interesting. Someone who can emote, ya know. Should be awesome!

Also, one Matrix movie (that plagarized Dark City). I was always worried they'd make sequels from the seat of their pants and put way too much slo-mo CGI where Keanu looked like a PS2 game. Sure glad they didn't make THAT mistake.
Dark City was fantastic. Thank you for reminding me of the name of that film because I can never seem to remember it. I'm also really glad they never made a sequel to Pitch Black.

For me, a big part of not caring so much for Temple of Doom came down to the framing of the movie. The Arc of the Covenant, Holy Grail and Nazis are simply more interesting set pieces for an Indian Jones film. Add in the other stuff and it just made for something that was a lot less interesting to watch. It's still a fun and interesting movie, just not something I wanted to spend money to own. I do agree that Temple of Doom is still far superior to Crystal Skull.

The last crusade is in my top 5 films of all time. I think its more of an adventure than the others. It has more nazis, a beast of a soundtrack, sean connery and the holy grail. Need i say more?

Why all the hate on the crystal skull? I found it very enjoyable, even if the whole nuking the fridge thing isn't actually possible.
Nostalgia.

And I don't know why everyone gripes about nuking a fridge, when George Lucas' big mistake was showing the aliens. That shattered the sense of mystery. But still, the movie wasn't bad; it just did a few things wrong.
