Rage!!!! 28 days/weeks later <--- good zombies

The original Dawn of the Dead made me laugh so hard.
Dude the ending to the original Dawn of the Dead was so different than what is was originally intended to be. The girl and dude were supposed to commit suicide after realizing the futility of living in an undead world. I think the girl was supposed to kill herself by applying her head to the rotating blades of the chopper while the dude was supposed to do it the old fashion way ( .50 caliber aspirin cures headaches and life)

To watch as a movie it is much more fun to see the all classic Romero zombies, but if I had to really live through the zombie apocalypse, I would have to go with rage for the obvious reasons I will now explain.

The main difference between these two forms of zombies is time to kill ratio they each posses. The amount of time for these tow types of zombies to die out extremely differs. Romero Zombies though slow and clumsy can last for years and will slowly kill most of humanity over many years. In this time the world would fall into chaos, governments would collapses, and raiders would emerge.(ie see all of Romero's works)

Rage zombies on the other hand will kill the most amount of people in the shortest amount of time, running from person to person and infecting others as fast as they can run. the key difference between zombies and rage zombies is that rage zombies are still technically alive, they breath, they sweet, and they bleed. with this in mind standard military tactics will work, pump them full of lead they all drop dead. Not only can they be killed like any other human, the life span of a rage zombie would be at the most a week, because they are still human and need to eat. This would cause rage zombies to eventuality burn themselves.

As you can see rage zombies is the lesser of two evils, to have Romero zombies on the Earth is the equivalent of bringing back the plague, slowly killing the world. Rage zombies would be like a natural disaster mass damage, lots of death, but you can survive it and rebuild after it has gone away.

I have put a lot of thought into this, watched the movies, read the books, and have even created some zombie plans. I have way too much time on my hands huh?

The kind that don't post a million topics about zombies.
Would you mind posting the millions of topics about which zombie type is the best?, cause i didnt find a single one when i searched prior to creating this thread.

And seeing as you say there are a shitload of them it should be easy to link them.

Oh, and thanks for the arrogance, really brightened up my day to see there are still idiots on the internet.
I didn't say there were millions about "zombie types", but ever since this latest wave of games, people and the media are obsessed about zombies. Almost all the shows on the Escapist talk about them, people like you make a 1 word variation in something and make threads about it, hell, they were on nation news.

And if your search didn't find threads like this, then you can't say you searched.

To watch: rage zombie.
To meet: regular "classic" ones.

I mean, who'd wanna meet zombie marathon sprinters?

Dude that thread is about which zombie game is the best this one is about what kind of zombie people like more. Don?t go out of your way to ruin people's fun, it?s a dick move. If you don't like a thread or think it's stupid, then don?t reply to it. Oh and, rage zombies hell yes, jumping over cars and stuff, there way scarier.

I always figured the slow moving, classic zombies are more likely in an apocalypse situation. The idea that zombies can sprint and charge doesn't sound likely to me. Its their numbers that make them deadly.

Also, rage zombies are a lot scarier, since they have numbers, and are far faster.

I prefer the fast, modern kind, because in a real life zombie apocalypse that's what we would have.
Sorry but that is probably one of the stupidest things i've read all week.
Yeah, sorry, you've got a point, I should have phrased that better. I don't mean that we're really going to have a zombie apocalypse, because that is, obviously, stupid and ver very unlikely. However, I was referring to the more scientific basis that later zombie films and games seem to have in that usually the zombies are just ordinary people or the recently deceased infected with some sort of virus. It has been stated by various scientific experts that such a virus may be possible, in that it's possible to create a virus of some kind that will induce cell replication (a lot like the T-Virus in Resident Evil), or that perhaps some form of rabies may in real life mutate to a form similar to the Rage virus. I basically mean to say that viruses like this are possible so after many years of research, not that anyone will be stupid enough to research methods of creating zombies, we may well end up with viruses that have similar effects to zombification. A zombie apocalypse just isn't going to happen though, so my bad.

well technailly the rage zombies arent really zombies since most are infected with a virus. (28 days later had a the zombie trait passable by blood or contact with the infected)its sorta like calling a native american an idian. there not really an idian (or in this case dead)

classic zombies are the only real zombies and are slow becuase.. well there brain dead and cant really think

To be honest, classic zombies.

There's an interesting related article that Simon Pegg wrote, called 'Zombies Don't Run! [http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/nov/04/television-simon-pegg-dead-set]'. Have a read :)

Once again, your arrogance is not needed, i visit these forums on a daily basis yet i have not seen this so called surge of zombie threads, heck, i havent even played zombie games in years, and i dont really care for Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising, only reason i posted this thread was because i saw "28 days later" a couple of weeks back and since then i've been thinking about the different types of zombies there are in movies.

And dont say there are a million of them if you can only link to 1 of them, i know there arent 1 million threads on it, but you were implying that there were alot of them, and yet you still cant link to more than 1...

I definitely favour the classic ones. The raging ones aren't scary in the least. It's the numbness that undeath brings to a human that is disgusting and frightening.

I prefer the classic ones after reading World War Z and the Zombie Survival Handbook. Makes you feel like you have slightly more of a chance when that Class IV infestation hits. Aim for the head!

I'm to tired to read through that, but i think i get the point of it, and i fully agree, to quote the god-father of zombie movies; George A. Romero on his thought about the remake of Dawn of the Dead:

"If a true zombie were to run their legs would fall of because of the decomposion" (Not sure that's the exact quote, but you get the point.)

hahaha!

I always wondered that if it were to REALLY happen, maybe they'd start off fast if they are fresh, then over time they'd get slow. I don't know though, really. I figure slow zombies are the way to go when it comes down to it.
