This is a tough choice.
Cave Johnson was hilarious.
But I loved the defective turret.

I loved Wheatly, but the little space core in the end had me cracking up.

"So much space. Need to see it all."

I love that little dude.

No love for the Fact Core?

"1 in 6 children will be kidnapped by the dutch."

"In Greek mythology Promitheus stole fire from the gods to give to man kind. The jewelery he kept for himself"

"Contrary to the common belief, eskimos do not in fact have 100 words for snow. They do however have 253 words for fudge."

Seriously underated. You'll be singing his praises once people posting "Spaaace!" becomes irritaiting.

Voted GLaDOS, though honestly, my favorite is a three way tie between her, Chell, and Doug Rattmann.

All three are insane survivors- GLaDOS was torn apart and killed, and she's right back to the bitchy scientist the second she's switched back on. Chell... the thought of someone being able to go through the Enrichment Center and not die is absolutely astounding, and that alone proves Chell would be a strong character, if she steps out of the full protagonist spotlight and is allowed more of a personality. Doug... the man slowly slips deeper and deeper into madness, but he survived GLaDOS' takeover, he is responsible for Chell even being able to run the test, and he managed to live in the Center. Actually live- Chell was in stasis or testing most of the time, and everything else is a robot. He's the only person who actually has to live there.

However, every character in Portal/Portal 2 was fantastic, and I salute the writers for putting together such a great story.

I had actually hoped that Weatley would live somehow even though GLaDOS hates his core. Despite his insane rampage, I totally forgive Weatley for what he's done. I'm glad Valve found a way to dispatch him without killing him........so I guess my favorite character is Weatley.

Wheatley, I liked him from the first preview trailers of Portal 2 that featured him trying to guess the override password for GLaDOS and treating a turret like a homeless man asking for spare change.

In the first game it was GLaDOS 100%

In portal 2 GLaDOS was fun but then I got to the Cave Johnson part, and it stole the show. It was kinda like a crazy Andrew Ryan.

The Defective turret was fun and it scores the same as the normal turret.

Third place goes to Wheatley and the other cores.

On a side note:

Play this game sleep deprived it becomes a whole new level of fun. I ended up getting myself stuck between 2 lasers that were so close that I couldn't jump out and it took about half a second to bounce from one to the other. This plus many other stupid errors are possible when you play without sleep!

Gahh, ninja'd!

If not the Space Core, then definately Cave, his section of the game was by far the funniest.

The bird.

I mean, it survived in an abandoned underground facility. And it built a nest on an office desk. Pretty cool, imo.

Edit:

And it attacked Wheatley and Glados.

It was WARNING you about Wheatley's betrayal, and attacking your other enemy.

It's really your best friend in Portal 2. Think about it.
How much thought went into that?

I'm pretty sure the Weighted Companion Cube spoke to you in Portal 1, warning about Wheatley and GLaDOS in the fuuuuutuuuure!

Whenever I see or hear JK Simmons I associate him with Schillinger, the neo-nazi he played in Oz, which is about as uncomedic a role as you can get, but he's absolutely brilliant as Cave Johnson.

In most other games any of the 3 leads would steal the show, but I'll go with GlaDOS. Then Cave, then Wheatley (who was funny but occassionally his stuff just went on a smidgeon too long...)

And an honorable mention for the defective turrets.
I agree

I love the quote GLaDOS says to Chell when she first flies through the air.

"Look at you soaring though the air, like a majestic eagle. Piloting a blimp."

Definitely wheatley, closely followed by Cave Johnson.

I didn't like GLADoS that much in this one.
