Which Star Wars is your favourite? And no, I'm not talking about all the rip-offs and secondary time periods, I'm talking about the six feature length films. Mine would probably be A New Hope.

The Empire Strikes Back, mainly because it was the introduction of the AT-AT. I have wanted one since I was seven years old.

The Return of the Jedi is my most favorite, just barely beating out The Empire Strikes back. I loved the battle on Hoth, but racing around Endor on speeders was really awesome.

Empire Strikes Back easily. The battle of Hoth is my favorite ground battle and the movie had the best soundtrack.

Empire by a mile, it's what made me a fan and buy into the story, characters and universe of Star Wars. New Hope and Jedi round out others I enjoyed.

I would say the Empire strikes back. In my opinion has some of the most memorable moments, a great soundtrack, and what has to be one of the most well known movie quotes of all time. Plus i think this was the first movie were i actually felt that the Empire was an actual threat. Plus Boba Fett, the only man known to bad mouth Vader without being chopped down on the spot for it. Phantom menace has to be second on my list. I mean awesome battles, a enjoyable story, and Jar Jar even makes me chuckle from time to time.

I am saddened that people actually call the movie A New Hope. It will always, in my mind, just be called Star Wars. My favorite will always be Empire Strikes Back. As long as it is not the Special Edition version. I refuse to watch that garbage.

Sorry about that, but I am in my late twenties and grew up loving the originals. When I saw Han talking with Jabba in the Star Wars Special Edition a part of my childhood disappeared.

Almost hopped on the Empire bandwagon... but the final confrontation on the Death Star II edges Jedi out front a bit.

Empire. This is what made the original trilogy legendary. If you think about it, it's a very dark and brave movie compared to A New Hope. George lost the plot in Jedi and thats when the series turned into the cash cow it is today. Imo it stands head and shoulders above all the other Star Wars films and is my favorite film of all time.

When I reached the end of Return of the Jedi for the first time and suddenly saw Hayden Christen appear out of nowhere claiming to be Luke's father, I couldn't stop screaming at the television for about an hour or so. And that was after experiencing all of those new CGI cut-scenes of the celebrations around the universe. >_< Paying £17 for a boxset of the untouched originals on DVD was the best thing to happen to me this Christmas. XD

I am very sad to hear what you went though. I stopped watching the Special Editions after seeing the original. I couldn't imagine what I would have done had I seen Hayden Christiansen standing there will Yoda and Obi Wan. Actually I do, it would have been the same as your's. I have the untouched originals as well and they are brilliant

Empire Strikes back. Overall best film dramatically.

The prequel trilogy shouldn't even be in the runnings. They're pretty awful.
