I think about peoples tendency to want to believe that battle is all about character, skill, and coolness, and completely ignore the fact that I don't care how badass Leonidas is, or how much cooler he is then Master Chief, Energy Sword, shield and power armor against naked dude with a spear, the Technology wins. With that technology, I could beat Leonidas, and that has nothind to do with my battle skills.

My first thought? CAD sucks.

Seriously that's the first thing that I thought of on seeing that image.
Me too, actually. And then, after reading on for a bit, I thought- thank Bob noone seems to recognize this as CAD. Hopefully that means we'll see the end of it soon.

My first thought was, "Oh Christ this is old."

Then I remembered it was CAD and wished I could kill it with fire.

First thought: the real Spartans can move AND use their shields at the same time, so the space marines are fucked.

Eh heh heh heh, yeah.
I'd probably like it if it wasn't by CAD.

"Those unarmored movie spartan twats are completely out classed. Energy swords have a habit of pwning bare flesh and, I assume, wooden shields and spears."

300, though a mildly amusing testoste-romp, infuriated me. I know it's very nitpicky, but hoplites (athenian, spartan, et al. ) were some of the most heavily (and best) armed and armoured soldiers in the ancient world. In my humble opinion they LOOK a lot better armored than not. Why would you ignore the lamellar and bronze cuirasses that is so indicative of the greek warrior in favor of a...loincloth diaper?

Anyway, /rambling rant. Sorry for the digression. In short: Guns and lazors > spears and shields.
