Poll: Your Game of the Year so far

Out of what I have actually played the Witcher 2 tho it?s far from perfect followed by portal 2. I would probably like DE:HR but I haven?t got around to buying it yet.

That would be Witcher 2, followed closely by Deus Ex: HR and Portal 2. Still waiting for Arkham City and Skyrim, so this is no definite verdict.

When Saints Row 3 comes out, it'll have more than enough time to take home the gold this year

Same goes for you guys. For one, the question was game of the year "so far". Secondly, these games aren't out yet. You have no way of knowing whether they're good or not, hype doesn't make a game great.

For me it'll probably have to be Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Although I don't want to name a single game, because Arkham City and Portal 2 come pretty darn close. Later on, I'm hoping Skyrim and SWTOR will make my personal favourites, but I'm not going to say they will without actually playing the games.

It won't win any awards but for me it's Alice maddens returns. There are defiantly more consensually liked games that have been and will be released this year but Alice just struck a rather mad chord with me.

But if it could be done again I'd put less dolls and more of Carol's animals into the game. Like the Jub-jub bird, the Bandersnatch and the Boojum.

Keeping in mind that I've not played Batman Arkham City, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, or Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

I nominate Dragon Age 2. Yeah, I really liked it, it wasn't what I expected or wanted, but it was still very fucking good.

EDIT: I still need to get Portal 2 and The Witcher. I am out of practice for buying PC games due to not having a decent one for years.

(And yes I do know that Portal 2 is available on other platforms. I still view it as a PC game.)

So far it's a tie between Portal 2 and Bastion - with Deus Ex taking bronze. However, I'm yet to play 3 of my anticipated games (Arkham City, BF3 and Skyrim) - hoping they round off a pretty good year.

The screenshots and trailers have come out... did you read what I said?

The screenhots by themselves are better than any other game released so far this year, in my opinion.

I did. I just thought that was a very shoddy, bordering on ridiculous, excuse to name a game that you haven't actually played, I just don't see a way I could equate looking at screenshots and trailers with playing a game. Then again, whatever floats your boat, buddy. More power to you.

DX:HR narrowly edges out P2 for me. Haven't played Batman or Drake yet.

(Addendum: Interesting to see that there's no love for Dead Space 2--still comfortably in my top 5 at time of writing. January amnesia syndrome?)

Portal 2 for me. There was alot of hype and great expectations of the game and in a rare example Portal 2 actually was better than even the hype suggested.

Also with Merchant's performance as Wheatley there was a west country accent in a computer game. This made me happy, my accent is rarely heard outside of pirate related things.

Arkham City by miles. I'm thinking it'll be my joint-GOTY alongside Skyrim.
Portal 2 would be in second place.

I really think 2011's been a pretty slow year for games.

The Witcher 2 (Triss in her revitalized form almost sells the game entirely, heh)

So far, Dark Souls. But so far, it's less a matter of "best" and more of an "only". Not a big year so far for things I give a damn about.

Sword of the Stars 2 and Skyrim coming up should change that though..

I cant pick from those but they are clearly my top 3 this year so far.. with many more to come in the next 2 months.

I have a feeling Uncharted 3 will win if its multiplayer is as good as they are hyping.
