Consoles, easily. To me the most important thing about gaming is the games, and consoles generally have the game library that best suits what I personally enjoy playing.

I have every current generation console (except for the Wii (my brother owns one) and Wii U) so I'm not restricted to a single platform. I spend more time on my 3DS and PC than anything else, but I'm primarily a PC guy.

69 vs 9 It seems to me that there's a massive disconnect between the console focused Escapist mag and the regular audience, considering the overwhelwing PC majority everytime someone does this poll.

Good question why we keep having console vs PC debates on this forum, considering we have so few console gamers left. The console side must be making overtime. Let's give those poor guys a break.
likely its to do with more people have switched over to PC because of the length of this console generation which has made the tech gap so huge along with the fact that PC gaming is much much easier to get into now than ever. Plus there are things like Valve's big picture for Steam as well as other things means that PC is as accessible as it has ever been.

It will likely swing round and be more balanced again in a year or two when the new gen consoles are slowly adapted.

Growing up I only had a pc. Figuring out whether a game would run on it was a pain. A really lengthy install, adjusting all the video options etc for different games to try to get it to run was a pain, and even if it did run it'd be no garuntee it'd keep working if you updated software or used more space etc.

I loved rts's though, but after playing so many of them they got stale.

Switched to consoles. Cheap, better splitscreen opportunities, and it's a guarantee that the games will work with a massive game library. Use a netbook for computing and a few retro games.

Might need a powerful desktop for work though, so might as well in time for Coh2 and Day z looks good.

I have been a dedicated PC gamer for the past decade or so. I have fond memories of gaming on my N64 and PS2, but these days I personally find that the advantages of the PC platorm outweigh the drawbacks.

What I miss most about console gaming is the couch multiplayer experience: a 4 player Goldeneye deathmatch on my N64 or a Co-Op runthrough of Halo: CE at my buddy's place. A selling point for the next-gen consoles which appears to have been ignored is the possibility of 4-player split screen. It was awesome on an ancient 32 inch SDTV, on a massive 72 inch HDTV it would be a glorious experience.

I own a gaming PC, a wii and a ps3, and maybe soon a 360 along with many retro consoles. I want to focus of PC games next gen, because consoles just don't appeal to me like they used to. Although the same could be said about all platforms for me personally.

If I had a good enough gaming computer, I would prefer that. Unfortunately, my laptop is horrible for playing games on, so I have to go with console (PS3).

I've got 4 games on my Vita, about 50 on my PC and 150+ between by Xbox and PS3... So console? Or... Everything? Yeah, that... Not so much Handheld, it gives me a headache if I play for more than an hour at a time.

Mostly consoles. Although I have been branching out a bit on some older PC games like the first two Fallout games.

I have a 360, PS3, Wii,a laptop and a couple of handhelds. So whatever games I usually want to play, I usually have access too.

PC & handheld are my ...uh, 'preferred method of playing' but I do have me consoles too. I mean can you really turn down a turn on the Sega Genesis or PS2? I thought so.

PC for RTS and such, consoles for other things, handhelds for handheld things.

Y'know, I just play games, why would format stop me? Mostly lately I play my 3DS and such.

PC for me. Its so much cheaper than consoles, not to mention mods and better controls and my DS broke so I'm shit outta luck on handhelds.

Every argument I hear telling me why I should go to PC is trumped by me pointing to the first party Nintendo lineup.
Ya, but then again all of them are fucking sequels. If thats your thing go for it, I'm gonna pass though. For me Wii is good for homebrew and the few good exclusives that aren't sequels (No More Heroes, Xenoblade, etc.)

PC. The ability to take my Steam library whereever I go and the fact that my laptop plays everything I'd ever want, makes it very compelling to play on PC.

I'm not arsed really, I own all systems, well minus one fucked up 360.
I buy different games for each system so they get played equally. FPS and strats for PC. Platformers, open worlds, sports and RPGs for the consoles.

PC, but I do play on my GBA whenever I'm on the plane. Of course that's also because I'm to lazy to download an emulator on my phone.

As much as I bang on about how awesome PC gaming is and how much I do it, I do have my SNES hooked up because the games on there have been hitting the spot recently. I think my problem with console gaming is the options available today, versus the actual physical machines that runs the games.
