A living, breathing thing that depends on you, or a gaming device that can be bought for 300??

Is this even a question?? The dog, of course.

I have a cat, and it's significantly lighter than my computer. Trying to save my computer would probably get me killed, so I'd go for the cat.

A PS3 and 360 aren't that expensive. Dogs.
Besides, I have a soft spot for animals...

are you serious? anyone who saves their console over their pet should die in the fire instead. this is just obscene that someone would even have to think about that. if you save your console, you might be a sociopath.

I have neither a dog nor a console, but since this is a what if question, and I'm not a trying to be funny, I'll go with saving my dog.

I struggle to understand how this is even a thing.

Soulless machinery, or a living, feeling animal that will probably die in agony if left behind.
HMMMMM.
Suprised you were the first one to point this out.
This.

I could always buy another console. Sure my saves will be gone, but I'm sure some of the stuff is cloud based. So the dog.

Well my dogs died a few years ago. But if they were alive, I'd save them and anything else important, like my computer and external hard drive. Yes, I refuse to follow your rules.

I'd save my console and my "you're never gunna get this back, chum" items. Some of you may think this is cruel, however I submit to you that my own mother has stated on several occasions that she would save my dog before anything else, so...

Dog. It will give me an excuse to buy one of those nice new xboxes rather than stick with my 20gb one

what a silly question. Dog obviously on the basis that I can replace my console, hell I could easily live without it, but I couldn't live without my two best buddies!

Lets see. I have insurance on my console and games under home owners (my mothers) so I would get reimbursed and all I would lose is the memory on my system. The rest I would get back to me, or money equal to their value at time of payment (depreciation included).

So the dog would be much harder to replace, and as such is a living being. I would save it cause it would be my friend, and if you ask anyone who owned a dog they really cared for, if that dog dies/runs away/is killed/given away/etc. then you cant just simply go out and buy another dog and expect things to still be the same.

Machines =/= Friendship from a loving pet.

My dogs. All three of them. Somehow. XD

My console can be replaces, and those hours of gaming can be redone. The ten+ years I've spent with my dogs can't be.

I don't have a dog and I don't care for my PS2.
I'd save:
-Guitar (the electric one, acoustics are cheap)
-Phone
-Zune
-And somehow my music that I've created through FL Studio, it isn't hosted online anywhere. :/

My pet, you can't buy another one of 'em that's exactly the same.

Note that I don't have a pet but still.
