Poll: Your "OMFG" moments in gaming

A real show of baddassery was when I was fighting the grim reaper on Devil May Cry 3. It wasn't the first time but I had just turned on turbo and wanted to get used to it. I was using the trickster style which gives you the ability to teleport to your enemy from across a room. I was in the grim reapers face just hacking away at his health and he was almost dead when he took a swing at me and I used that teleporting feature to disappear for a fourth of a second while his scythe went passed where I was and I appear right after it missed me and I killed him. I felt fulfilled when I didn't move and still dodged his attack.

Got kicked for cheating by the opposing team. Sore losers Tommy gun > sniper any day.

I had something similar happen. I was playing a Free For All match on Halo 2. I got all 25 kills without dying. People were yelling at me and reporting me left and right when the match was over.

Playing Halo 3 with my friends on offline multiplayer in an empty Sandbox. One of my mates was driving a mongoose around and I was sitting on the side of a Hornet with my friend driving it and I managed to no scope my friend off a moving Mongoose at the top of the middle layer on Sandbox. And I can't snipe for my dinner.

Bioshock 2 FFA. I killed everyone with a crossbow. EVERYONE. And it takes two hits to the head to kill with the crossbow.

I was especially surprised considering the amount of open-space on that map (I don't go in the house, because it's a deathtrap)

Well it wasnt mulitplayer but.. um.. awhile back when playing Breath of Fire 3. On the last boss I was working my ass of trying to kill it, then it managed to take out all but one of my characters. I said "Fuck it" and threw my controller to the side after having myself attack once. I go to turn off the game when I heard the boss dying. Needless to say I was pretty dumb founded.

Playing goldeneye back in the day at a friends house. Playing 2 on 2 in the stack. My teammate and me are on the upper level and he is shooting downwards with a magnum at the enemy guys below. I have a rocket launcher and am running up behind him so I said "let me have a crack" and fired but mis-aimed shooting the floor killing both me and my teammate and putting us on -2. Still gets laughed about after all this time.

My most recent one was in Just Cause 2. I hijacked a 747 and crashed it into a base assassinating a colonel. At first I didn't think you could fly 747's in that game, but when I found out that I could, I felt like a badass. I just kept laughing, thinking "Holy shit, this is fucking awesome!"

i know its not that good but i remember these now
halo odst on co-op, campain, legendary, with all the skulls on, my friend was getting shot at and i was sniping, he died and left me to kill about 30 enemys with not that much ammo and also enemys that take a shit load of ammo to kill. so i decided to jump off the platform i was on and just gun till i drop...5 minuites later all enemys dead and my friend respawned, i gloated for a few seconds then a grunt chucked a grenade that stuck to my head.......i was like WTF...OMFG...HTFG


also on cod 5 natzi zombies the factory map, one of my friends got downed on round 20 and i stood next to him shooting all the zombies while he was being revived, killed about 15-20 zombies in the period of a minuite

So I'm playing Halo 3 and our group is playing CTF on Valhalla. We had been fighting hard the whole game but they eventually they got the gamewinning flag and got it outside. Finally they have the flag on the ramp to their base with about 10 seconds left in Sudden Death. I have the sniper rifle and stop the carrier 4 times as different people picked it up.

Battlefield Bad Company 1:

So were palying Gold Rush on the annoying map Oasis. As attackers, we make it to the last gold crate, and I spawned off some guy who was behind the enemy lines. I was an Assault class, armed with the trusty M16. Some murderous rage filled me, and by the time I'd died, I'd killed 11 with the M16, one with the M203 grenade launcher and two with H36 grenades.

And when I died I was so close from setting the charge on the last gold crate. At first I was angry because had it worked, I would've gotten the Objective Destroyer Trophy, but later when I saw the kills I was like "...wow..."

I can't recreate what happened maybe two hours ago during the Super Smash Brawl fest, but we had some golden OMFG WTF JUST HAPPENED moments with the four of us.

Playing as a Sniper in TF2, essentially recreating the scene from the "Meet The..." video. Found a group of enemies running in a line...too good of a target to pass up.

I got a headshot with a shotgun in The Conduit(online Multiplayer) after being hit with a flash grenade. I had fun with that because afterward the player I killed kept coming back at me. XD

SOTA Defending I had a rogue wailing on me with everything he had while I was healing the other raiders. He was burning every cooldown he had and could only get my health to 25% before it would shoot right back up to max. He got so tired of it he ran off then I hunted him down with a hunter buddy and killed him

There have been a lot of moments like this over the years, but one comes to mind.

Operation Flashpoint, Capture The Island. I was playing with a whole bunch of people and was leading a small armored detachment on an offensive. I was commanding an Abrams tank. We took a town with some difficulty and then moved on to the next one, and half-way there I spotted an Mi-8 transport helicopter flying right to left at high speed. It was heading for the town we just took, presumably to drop off troops. This made me angry, but we had no anti-aircraft weaponry whatsoever so there wasn't really anything I could do about it (I thought). Regardless, I fired the main cannon at the heli in anger... and blew it out of the sky! It was an incredible fluke shot and, as the burning wreckage of the helicopter plummeted into the sea, the pissed off occupants swore at me over the comms as I was celebrating.

on bfbc2 i was in a tank and fired a shell at a helo and hit the pilot and killed him but the helo never got destroyed haha

On a Starcraft level on Multiplayer. Me and some buddies were doing a 2 on 1 because the '1' guy was a badass at Starcraft, leaving me and the other guy to try and face his royal pain in the ass. No surprise that the 'badass' was Protoss, the other guy was Terran, and I was Zerg. We managed to get a hold of the center of the map and the Terran guy kept keeping it together with siege tanks, but those weren't well equipped for the Protoss Zealots....

The baddass, however, wasn't prepared for all of 'my' tricks. Including a dozen Zerg Lurkers, and I knew the Protoss guy wouldn't build any observers, so yeah, he was screaming for a few minutes.

Also got him worried when I brought in a massive army of like, 24 Guardians that wiped out half of the Protoss base. He managed to beat off the Guardians, and I was the first to die, but hey, the badass told me this was the longest fight he's ever had to play, and he's just that good

In Halo 2 we were playing a custom game I can't remember the name of. I think it was Juggernaut or "Ninja-naut" or something. I was "It" and everyone was trying to take me out. I hopped into a ghost and led them on a ridiculous chase around the map. Funnier part being that I was told I was being a retard when I went for a vehicle because of how easy they were to stick. Three rocket launchers, four frag grenades and twenty plasmas later, I finally get stuck. Right as the thrower gets splattered on the Ghost and is my final kill for the win. Then I explode.

In Borderlands I thought I had a "fuck you" moment that turned into a "HOLY SHIT!!" moment when we had just killed Sledge and were getting the hell out of his mine. My friend hopped off one of the small cliffs and I went to follow suit. Only to get hung up on a little dip like in many older games where jumping and technically not landing happened a lot. Bad Ass Psycho spots me and comes sprinting my way. I'm freaking out because I'm stuck, not moving at all and this freak with a pick is coming to swipe my face off. I switch to Sledge's Shotgun which was recently relieved from its former owner and fire. Both shells were dumped into the Psycho's face. He was too strong to kill, but that was ok because the kick of the double-blast did wind up slinging the bastard from my spot all the way to the little warehouse on the other side of that area of the yard.

Incidentally, the battle with Sledge had a minor "OMFG" moment when I was injured and bleeding out and trying as hard as I could to kill whoever I could. Sledge happened to be whacking me for a bit of fun and found that my shotgun took his last bit of health and gave me a Second Wind. We then proceeded to wipe out Sledge's remaining underlings and head off into what resulted in my other moment.
