I usually have a beard, originally I grew it to make me look older because I got sick of people saying I looked too young to be working where I do ect. That was when I was like 18, haven't looked back since.

I do keep my beard trimmed though like once a week usually otherwise it gets really uncomfortable since my hair is think and bushy.

I'd like to be able to grow some. Not a hobo beard, just some heavy stubble. Like Will Graham from Hannibal. Sadly I'm probably the most babyfaced person you'll ever meet.

Depends on the guy. Some faces can carry facial hair, some just can't. There are a lot of baby-faced or nerdy looking guys out there who really shouldn't have put down the razor.

Personally, I'm currently sporting some pretty ridiculous sideburns. They probably make me look goofy as hell, but I like 'em anyway.

I happen to think I look rather brilliant with a beard, and considerably more so than without one.

Beards are wonderful things, distinctive, dashing and damned classy.

I like facial hair but it's not for everyone. I myself have a goatee partially because I like it and partially since I look like really young and whatever can make me look a little older helps.

I have a beard at the moment. Honestly, I think it looks alright on me (when it's not "patchy"), but my friends and family hate it. The only reason I have it however is because I'm way too lazy to shave.

I like having a beard. I also don't like shaving very much, so I am prone to not shaving if I can get away with it.
And since right now I can (sort of) get away with it, here's a pic of my beard right now- it's trimmed now, after two months of not shaving.

when she's around, I shave my moustache, leaving me with goatee only.

Beards make 99% of men look like twats. I am part of that 99%, so I'll just keep shaving as long as it keeps growing out.

If you can make it out at all, this is me:

I aim for this:

I naturally can't grow hair on my cheeks, but my beard does connect with my chops, meaning with little effort I get that exact beard. I like a little more girth on my own because I'm self-concious about my chin.

On occasion I switch it up and run with a full goatee (ala gordon freeman) but the full beard is my preference.

Recently tried to see how long I could get it, stopped a 2 inches as it just got too wild. I keep it at between 1 and 1 and half inches.

Not really a beard or stache type person myself but I do however admire the beauty of them coming from the likes of:

Robert Downey, Jr.
Hugh Laurie.
Hugh Jackman.

I mean those 3 actors were born to have the greatest of beards and mustaches.

I think for me it depends on what kind of facial hair -
Nice, well kept facial hair is a yes.
Neckbeardery or just a general mess (i.e. stupidly long) is a no.

I absolutely love having facial hair. My normal style is a goatee of some sort, and I think it keeps me from looking like a teenager. It makes me feel all grown up inside!

My boyfriend has facial hair. I do not like facial hair. There's nothing I can do about it.

I wouldn't mind so much if it was stubble, or a full blown beard, but he has a Johnny Depp goatee and while, yes, it does suit him, it also makes him look like a massive geek. The second he puts on a fedora is the second I stop going out in public with him.

Female here. I don't actively DISLIKE facial hair, it's just it often reminds me too much of my father. So I'll take the "Depends on the situation/man/type of beard" option please!

I don't hate facial hair on me, but I prefer being clean shaven personally. I've been told I look better with less or no facial hair several times, but no one has ever told me I should grow a beard. Some guys can pull beards off really well, I just end up looking like a hobo, especially if my hair is longer at the time.

I have a rather high rate of hair growth, it makes it hard for me to keep anything groomed well to be honest. So out of laziness I kind of go through cycles of growing a beard (about one to 1,5 weeks) and then shaving it off.

I've gone with a beard for longer but eventually shaved it off every time because it was just irritating me too much, even after a month or more of growth. Or because taking care of the uglier neck hair was getting too much of a hassle.

Girls usually say that I should grow a beard (which I can do very easily), but I dunno, don't even know how it would work out in relationships, I usually try to keep a clean to "mildly unshaven" face for those occasions.

Facial hair only does one thing, make you look like a hobo.

Nobody looks better with a facial hair, at least I have yet to see one.

Gamers and nerds in general seem to think facial hair is awesome but they are like fedoras, not as cool as you think.
Sure when the beard looks like trash, it ruins the face, but beards aren't automatically ugly

Although I do have to agree with you about nerds and beards. A lot of times, nerd beards are very ugly

My chin looks like a tiny butt sticking out the front of my face.

I wore a goatee for years to hide it (give or take one girlfriend who, for some insane reason, preferred me clean-shaven). About a year ago, I starting feeling like the goatee was a bit over saturated (plus I had about three co-workers who had them), so I switched to a Van Dyke, which I like quite a bit.

Either way, I kept them them trimmed and never let them get more than about an inch long. Otherwise, it starts looking like facial pubic hair, which is not what I'm going for.
