Pandas... you got something to say?

Anyway, I went for socialism.

I think so many people like Capitalism because they all hope that one day they'll get filthy, stinking rich.

No option for environmentalists for democracy? Someone needs to catch up with the times.

Economically a mix between capitalism and socialism. With the state and society, i'm a social libral rather than an economic libral. Why isn't libralism on the list? A few of the main ideologies are missing off the poll.

Well it doesnt seem like you ment this to be a serious thread, but im going to go ahead and be semi-serious.

Im a conservative. Now for whatever reason people think tight-assed, no fun, scared of boobs conservatives. I dont really care about thier social agendas, i think thats the words im looking for. I dont care if people are haivng sex with 300 partners, i dont care if billy saw tits in titanic. What i do care about is taxes, and a competitive free market system, and the government minding thier own business and realizing they serve me, not the other way around.
So you're a conservative in the sense that you disagree with almost all of the generally accepted beleifes associated with conservatives? Not sure I understand how you came to associate with that label...I actually agree with most of what you've said, and I'd probably term myself as a Libertarianist (or at least I feel it suits my beleifs more than any of the other 'isms' and 'ists' I've heard of)

Liberty Prime rant over.

Communism would work, if we were all equal but we're not. I'd rather live in a society where you're rewarded for doing better instead of everyone being rewarded equally otherwise no one advances. The lazy reap the same rewards as the hard workers.

And besides Communism in Soviet Russia and the People's Republic just results in mass murder so what does that tell you?
It tells me that your understanding of the term communism is different from the definition, Communism has never existed in the USSR, nor has it in the peoples democratic republic of korea.

So, I suppose I'm a libertarianist, though I could live in a communist (utopian) society if such a thing could ever exist (which I imagine would require machines/AI that is able to handle all production and labour demands, so it basicially can't happen realisticially within my lifetime).

Communism.

If the goverment gets it shit together, it can work.
Communism doesn't work for the same reason world peace doesn't work. While it's a wonderful little "theory" it doesn't actually happen in the real world due to the dynamics of society, culture, and human psychology.

But that withstanding, it's still been a major driving force and perhaps the most influential political ideology of the 20th century.

...which is why we don't need a government.
...but without anyone (in this case a government) in charge what do you think those with more ambition than restraint are going to do?
Get their ass kicked by an educated, politically aware and involved collective populace.
Who can be bothered to be both aware and involved In politics, why? (I'm not trying to denounce you, just wondering. Only like half the people in America even vote regularly, so...)

Communism, my good friend. I know that it could work if the greedy rich would stop oppressing the proletariat. I really hate the rich, with their expensive fur coats and houses that can fit 20 Somalians in them (there's a big population in Finland of them) My dad is the biggest Capitalist that I know of and he keeps on preaching about how Communism is all a fantasy, but no, it is the proper society

Most on the list could work in theory. Its just when you add the "H factor" or human nature, it will collapse.

Socialism. I'm mostly okay with a pseudo-capitalist social structure, but the bottom line is that the free market is bound to a certain degree of mind numbing stupidity and doesn't deserve our trust.

Basic human rights like health care have to be provided by the government. Imagine if people had to pay for freedom of speech and your payments went up on the basis of how often you said things others didn't agree with, or on how often some insurance company thought you might say such things. Also, imagine if your insurer could suddenly decide to revoke your right to free speech for no real reason.

America's financial institutions have shown what they'll do without regulation, and look as though they'll do it again because we didn't impose any conditions when we bailed them out. Furthermore, private industry is product driven to the point of being counterproductive. Are pharma companies interested in interesting problems or research in Biology? Not really. They want a cure for cancer and a better boner pill, and that's precisely what they won't get. I firmly believe that the superpower of the future will be the country that gets on board with a science based economy; government funded, and based on what's interesting rather than what seems immediately profitable.

Most political systems that are actually used today combine certain elements from multiple ideologies (mainly capitalism, socialism, liberalism and conservatism). Pure versions of any of these ideologies have never yet been proven succesfull, the real question is where the balance should lie.

Anyway, I can personally agree with most of the ideas behind social-democracy, but even that is pretty broad.

I would say capitalism, with bits of socialism as well. I would explain further, but I'm not. By the way, I voted for Pandaism, because I love pandas.

Looking at the Crime rate here in Sweden, I'm starting to wish for a police state.

So that would make me a facist? Cool.
