I've always used the french pronunciation "Mehm". I'm actually glad you brought this thread up, 'cause I've always sort-of wondered how it was supposed to be pronounced.

I say "sort-of" because I really never cared enough to actually take the 5 seconds required to look it up myself. Also, I'll always pronounce it my way because "meem" just sounds stupid to me after pronouncing it my way for so long. Not quite as stupid as "me-Me" at least.

I pronounce it mehm, then everyone else started pronouncing it meem, to this day "meem" still sounds weird to me.

Meem

Yeah I got a lot of those when I was 5. Sort of stuck with me, that and 'i before e except after c.'

EDIT: Also, on a related note, 'Trope' is preonounced 'tro-puh.' Not 'trop-ee'. I had a university level Creative Writing tutor pronounce it 'trop-ee' for nearly three weeks before I finally brought in both an English and a French dictionary to show him that it is not prnounced with a long e on the end. Just because it is French does not mean you have to try and say it 'Frenchly.' I suspect even the French pronounce it 'meem' because there are no accents in it.
god, rember that "Magic e" video from primary school.
Also, does trope rhyme with rope? 'Cause if not, my mind might expload.

OT: I was unaware people pronunced Me-Me or Ma-May. It's Meem.

I used to pronounce it 'Meh-may'. Then I found out it's actually pronounced 'meem'.

Then I started pronouncing it 'meem'. And now that I look back to it, I actually like it more this way.

I've always said 'meeeeem'
It's a good word to say, and hopefully it's a meeeem by being meme!

mee-mee, until I realised it was supposed to be meem. Fortunately, I have never had to say it out loud, so no loss!

Well, I used to pronounce it May-May (Or was it Mey-Mey?) Untill I heard someone else (Well, a few someone elses) pronounce it Meem. I've kind of switched to that pronounciation since then.
