I find it humorous but It's been a while since it actually made me laugh. It's enjoyable enough IMO

I abhor it, yet most of my friends seem to find it hilarious. It really doesn't have any redeeming quality, apart from being slightly more interesting to watch than nothing at all.

I've never seen much of it, but now that we're seeing more and more of Charlie Sheen and how much of a douche he can be, my desire to check it out is waning.

Never laughed during an episode.

I found it annoying but then again, it's a sitcom. How many sitcoms are actually good?

Well, there are a few British sitcoms I find funny, but all of them are no longer airing anymore.
you don't like Peep Show?

or

The Inbetweeners?
Never heard of them. I'll be sure to check them out. ;)

So, last week I decided to have a sleep-over at a friend's house. At around midnight, one of my friends(There were several of us) decided that we should watch the ENTIRE 7th season of Two and a Half Men. My other friends, being unashamed fan-boys of the show, jumped on this opportunity, nearly drooling at the mouth.
Few people can comprehend my hatred for that damn show. For the 4 or 5 hours we spent watching that show, there wasn't even a SINGLE moment in which I laughed. I just found all the jokes to be stale, dry and generally unfunny, but for some reason, my friends loved it to bits. After a few hours, I decided to pack it up and leave(I lived about 20 minutes away by walk) after one of my friends said I had no sense of humor.

Is there something that I'm missing here!? What is so special about this show and why? Do I really have no sense of humor?

So Escapists, what is your opinion on this show?
Your friends have a terrible sense of humour, introduce them to some Arrested Development and if they prefer 2 & 1/2 Men shoot them, it's for the good of the world
I lack the firepower. I'll use a stick instead ;)

I think it's pretty good, not the best show in the world, but certainly not the worst sitcom to come out. Don't really get why shows like family guy constantly rip on it, especially when their show is just as unintelligent most of the time. (Saying that, I do like family guy too. I remember the first time it came out, along with Joey on channel 5, in Britain that is, and it was easily the best out of the two.

I don't go out of my way to watch it; but if I'm at work and it comes on, it's an hour I'm being paid to watch it I can't complain.

EDIT: Okay, some of you didn't get what I meant, so I'll rephrase the question to be more clear;

"How many currently airing sitcoms are actually good?"
Curb your Enthusiasm is the best "sitcom" on TV. Larry David is a genius.

i actually fair like the show, being one of the only 2 shows i watch on comedy central (the others scrubs) but i know people who either dont like it or just dont watch it. but people shouldnt force it on people who dont like it and people shouldnt tell people who do like it that they shouldnt, its just a matter of "each to their own"

I used to really like it but now it's really meh. Now I'm totally into The Big Bang Theory. Best show on tv for nerds.

It really depends on what you class as a sitcom. By it's broadest definition Situation Comedy could take in CSI Miami, House, Dexter...all of which are good.

For actual funny programmes, How I Met Your Mother, Chuck, A Town Called Eureka, The Big Bang, The IT Crowd, It?s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Big Bang Theory, 30Rock?

But yes, Two and a half men is a stagnant pool of jarate based solely on the tired stereotype that men are just big kids.

I've caught it few times, as I think it at some point was on before something I actually liked.

It's not worth my anger. Such un-funny so-called comedy is dime in a dozen. No-one is forcing me to watch it, so I don't and it doesn't bother me.

It's funny to watch if I feel like watching a quick show and nothing else is on. It's definitely better than all those crappy adult cartoons like Family Guy, American Dad, etc. But I don't really like the newer episodes. It just seems like they keep doing the same thing. Charlie Sheen gets a girl, things get complicated, his brother whines about his wife or something, and the kid is a failure. They have a couple good jokes, but the show isn't something to write home about.

Good sitcoms? How I Met Your Mother is one of the funniest shows I've seen in years. I love it. Usually laugh tracks put me off of shows, like on that crap-fest called The Big Bang Theory, but I don't even notice it on this one. It's like a modern Friends combined with That 70's Show. All of the characters are likable and relatable to me.

Modern Family is a good one, too.

The Office is disgusting now... I still watch it because I want to see what goes on with the characters. But the show was progressively inching its way to the Cliff of Bad Shows and this season it just leapt right off the end and landed in the spike pit.

The Life Of Charlie Sheen As Written And Acted By Charlie Sheen. Like watching Charlie Sheen masturbate for 25 minutes. Just kill me now.

It tries to hard to just be retarded that it's so unlikeable.
Peter Griffin is completely unlikeable.

There is NOTHING likeable with that show.
Just going to point out that I completely agree with you. And whether or not you think the same of South Park, I definitely do. I'm baffled at the fact that so many people that think of themselves as the most intellectual people in the world love this show. Talk about lowest common denominator in reference to Two and a Half Men all you want, but Family Guy guns for that audience twice as hard.
