When I see someone with posts over 5000, I see them as the elitist snobs that makes up the majority of the Escapist.

ooo! I got a good one: THe person was lucky enough not to be banned for a really long time.
A good one indeed, especially since I got probated today for agreeing with someone. It was not as epic as I had envisioned my first probation to be...
you should have gotten a warning at most.

"this" is not an acceptable post on this forum even though it gets the point across quite nicely and more succinctly, so has its uses.

Well, I don't act too cocky when I discuss with a person with either a long membership at the Escapist or high post count, because most likely they've got more forum experience than me, with my ridicillously low post count.
Other than that, I don't really care.

The number of posts isn't what matters; the quality of the posts matter. The only time I usually pay attention to post count is when someone is very new to this sight, and even then you can't just judge them by their number of post: you also have to look at the date they joined and how they act towards other members.

I don't really notice post count, beyond vaguely noting their little Morpheus/Neo/Trinity icons. I usually base what I think of people on what they're saying. So what if they have 1200 posts, it might be 1200 posts of them being a twat.

Poster with 10K posts: Wow that's a lot of posts.
BANNED user with 10K posts: Wow this forum doesn't cut you slack for being an old timer.

I'm starting to think there should be an option to hide post count if one should choose to do so. I don't want people to start thinking anything of me because of my ridiculously high post count of 300+ :)

Seeing as I usually know them, I just read their post.

I wouldn't consider myself one of the high post counters, regardless of my high post count. I don't think I'm anywhere near as recognizable as Hub, Commi, or Furburt. The thing I like about being high in post count is that more people approach me, and I get to make more friends.

As for quality of my posts. I think its pretty up there. Sure its not as great for each post; but I do write weekly reviews, hold my own competition (Which is a lot of work to balance), and I've started to write my own weekly article thingy for fun.

And the whole hero worship some high post counters is silly as hell. As is that low post count and long join date thingy. But I digress, I just come here to have fun. Hopefully no one has a problem with that.

EDIT: Just to add some more random thoughts. I most likely try to be nice to new members, especially ones in the Review Board.

Either they're constructive members of the forum community, or they're attention whores.

Since I can't tell which until after I've been reading their posts for a few weeks, I usually don't worry about it.

Haha, thats nice to know.

Seeing as I'm limited to paint for my editing skillz, I'll try my best to make something presentable.
