I'm pretty sure everyone in England pronounces it "Zed"

"Zee" just sounds weird.
Thank you, another zed user. (Just like Dr. Mckay)

I say zee. Who the hell says zed? More importantly, if your region says zed how will your lazy-ass texting teenagers and such say "e-z" and other such words you should spell out instead of being lazy pricks murdering language?

EDIT: Since I'm worried about not coming off as an asshole, I'm not bashing people who say zed, I'm being angrily sarcastic.

Zee.

I'm pretty sure it's "zed" in the UK, "zee" in the US, and Canada will have a mix of both. Next question.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot Australia. Sorry about that, guy who posted above me.

I'm in midwest USA and I say zee. You know why I don't say zed? BECAUSE THERE'S NO 'D' IN Z!
[sub]Don't get me started on 'colonel'...[/sub]
Have you seen how we pronounce "lieutenant"? I don't think any one can justify pronouncing "Lieu-ten-ant" as "Lef-ten-ant".

Anyway, I'm British and I mostly use "zed" but I will sometimes use "zee". Being mocked in an American primary school for spelling something with "Zed" tends to change one's habits.

Ahhhh, the great American equalizer... conform or get out.

"Zee."

Though I do admit, ever since Gaz said L-Zed I've always thought "Zed" sounded cooler.

Simple question, how do you pronounce the last letter of the english language? What region do you live in (optional)? (I want to see if there is a strong regional correlation)
I say zed (being a Canuck), but I think zee makes more sense, else letters like b,c,d,e and g would be pronounced bed, ced, ded, ed, and ged. Doesn't sound right.

In American English, 'Zee' is more common, while in the Queen's, it is 'Zed'. Here in the magical land of Oz, it is also 'Zed'

Zed just screws up the alphabet song. "...QRS, TUV, W, X, Y and ZED." Just throws off the whole rhyme pattern it had going.
The 'Alphabet Song' of which you speak is just based (along with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Baa, Baa, Black Sheep) upon 'Ah vous dirai-je, Maman', a traditional French folk song.
The 'Zee' is due to a mixture of being written by an American, and it flows better in the song.

I'm pretty sure Americans such as myself are far more likely to pronounce it zee. I didn't even know there was a different pronunciation until I was playing a Total War game and the advisor told me for whatever reason to press the zed key. I was quite confused.

Lol exactly what I was thinking of! Awesome movie! :D

I say Zed, because I am a properly speaking Canadian, to be honest, Zee is more comfortable but I force myself to say Zed because its proper.

I'm usually really picky about the whole, dropping th U in colour and other Americanised spelling errors alternatives to English-English. I'm also aware that Zed is usually considered to be the correct pronunciation here in Australia...

But... I say Zee, partially because I grew up watching Sesame Street but mostly because it rhymes.
Recite the alphabet the way you once did as a child, and I'll think you'll understand.

Zee flows nicely, rhyming with the letter V. Zed is too abrupt, whenever I use Zed at the end of the alphabet, I can't help but feel it doesn't fit.

I'm sort of the opposite. I prefer Zed, but since I'm 'merican, it'd be pretty pretentious for me to use it.

Zee sounds strange, except for ZZ Top and the alphabet song. I always use zed. I used zee when I was like 14 and went through a brief and strange very pro-American phase.

Canadian here.
