Certainly not the worst thing I've ever heard but unfortunately I can't say it was the greatest either

It was ok, I suppose. Not my style of music and certainly not the best amateur songwriting I've ever heard. But it's ok for what it was.

I liked it.

I generally like her music. Don't mind if others don't, but it would be nice if they actually explained why instead of shouting insults and calling them opinions and therefore unable to be changed. I don't want them to be changed, I just want to know why you feel that way. Is that so hard to ask?

So, I'm confused. Has there been some internet equivalent of a Yahtzee/Mayes Cold War that I've been blissfully unaware of until now?
I guess so.

Then again I rarely ever read any of the video comments for any video.

Didn't like it. What got me was the terrible graphics (go on, you hated it too), and that the song isn't really about Yahtzee, it's just a mash-up of references to Zero Punctuation.

I never found her voice to be... long-term tolerable, either, but her composing is delightful.

In short - like the music, voice is flat, lyrics are shit. This goes for all her songs, too.

Rebecca Mayes had some good lyrics in this song. In fact, she sums up my opinion of Yahtzee very well.

Although he makes a lot of very good points in his reviews, the over-casualization of gaming being one of them, and I often agree with him, he has a nasty habit of slamming his audience too much. Considering he lives in Australia, aside from Michael Atkinson and shifty release dates, I can't find any reason for it. Maybe it's the fact that games are more expensive for him than us?

Overall, I consider Yahtzee as a comedian who makes fun of games while managing to provide his own points of view on them, for better or for worse.

When will people learn that writing bad music does not make it "indy" or "original", it just makes it bad?

Right, but in the song she specifically mentions that he insulted some mystery woman and it pissed her off, and some other issues. Did Yahtzee insult her mother or something? And, speaking of her mom, I can only assume that the woman was tone deaf. And that that sort of thing's genetic.
First off, he insults ALOT of women (but the blood stain suggests that he "put her down" in a different way). Second, Rebecca is awesome, not tone deaf.
In fairness, he insults everybody and everything...
Except Branston Pickle, Painkiller, Saints Row 2 and himself.
You forget Portal, it was actually called Sublime and he does insult himself. I wouldn't call how he refers to himself as positive.

There was an ad for Rebecca's song at the end of ZP? I missed it.

The song was just a gimmick to get more people to listen to RMM. And it worked for me, sadly. Rebecca's songs all sound the same and her lyrics lack a great deal of cleverness. And insulting Yahtzee for being a misoginist is missing the point so hard you hit every place the point isn't in.

To quote Yahtzee, "It's like begrudging a dog for licking it's balls, it's just what [he] does."

He does sometimes ("Yahtzee you *string of compliments*).
He did that way back and it has spiraled down ever since.
