I was reading the article on how Rainbow dash pulled more that 1600g doing the sonic rainboom like a baller, and it got me thinking. Has it ever occurred to anyone else that Rainbow Dash is constantly crashing at what I suspect is faster than her own terminal velocity and never comes out with anything worse than a headache?

EDIT: I didn't realize when I made the title that it was the same as the other thread. Sorry about that.

Oh silly, don't you know ponies are impervious to injury?

Anyway, I made some fairly reasonable assumptions about Dash's first sonic rainboom that came out with her pulling roughly 120000g. 1600g is nothing. I can't believe I just typed that.

You find this in a lot of cartoons, mostly it is being blasted by dynamite and just turning black, or having their head cut off and just putting it back on.

I read an article here that said it was 1600 but I could've been 160000, I don't remember.

Ponies > Physics. It's a fact.

Seriously though, so long as pretty colors or something cute comes out of it, all rules of physics are off.

I don't want to seem Like I'm hating but it's a cartoon. Cartoons have a Licence to screw with Physics as they see fit. (

Yeah, the one they talk about is 1600g. The one she pulls as a filly has a far tighter curve - pretty much turning on a pinhead, hence even more force.

I agree, I'm just sayin, so long as we're talking pony physics I might as well bring it up.

Twilight Sparkle would disagree with that...remember Pinky Keen (I think that's the title)? Twitch-twitchta-twitch = time to injure Twilight again.

OT: I love cartoon physics. If Fred Flintstone were a real human he probably would have died upon impact with that first bowling ball to the head.

Well, Twilight had an anvil dropped on her head from probably high enough for the anvil to achieve terminal velocity and didn't even have a scratch. So if Twilight and Rainbow Dash can withstand such forces and suffer no damage then I think we can conclude that ponies all have adamantium skeletons.

I have to wonder how she reaches that speed in the first place; she isn't flapping her wings, so presumably she's just falling under the influence of gravity. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to reach supersonic speeds without some other way of accelerating.

Isn't the fact that she probably shouldn't be able to fly at all sort of at the foreground of all of this? Pegasus ponies have tiny wingspans for how large they are, and they're far too dainty.

Touché...
Touché.

Maybe they can only be hurt if the plot demands it.

Quickly, bring me my equipment! I must conduct an experiment to determine the effects of "The Plot" upon pony imperviousness.

Or it could just be to do with Pinkie. I mean, she breaks the fourth wall and doesn't afraid of anything. She has Power.

You don't need to get properly injured to experience pain. And if you can't actually get injured, imagine how much further it can go...

Don't be a fucking idiot. It's fiction. For little girls. Stop thinking about it seriously.

Does terminal velocity really apply to selling toys?
Sir calm down, I know its a cartoon, I just thought it would be interesting to talk about.
