Now, everypony I have a question to pose that is of great significance and weight:
Where exactly does Equestria take place in? Is it in a Universe never before used in fiction? Does it take place in a post-apocalyptic Earth? Does it take place on a far away alien planet? Is it in Azeroth? An after-life for horses who have been turned into glue? The dreams of every little girl?
WHERE?!?!
My Bronies, we must find out where it is. If we do, perhaps through years of perfecting our technology and gathering resources we could one day hope that our grand children could maybe one day, one day make it to Equestria to serve our Princess Celestia and live in pony paradise for generations!

Also, unrelated note: If the Ponies are almost constantly nude, and yet we never see any genitalia, how in Celestia's beard do they reproduce? Magic? Do they divide like Bacteria?

TLDR: Where exactly is Equestria?

France exists, so therefore it must be on earth.

First question: Post apalocptic earth, if it was anywhere else how would they speak a language from eartf?

Second Question: The same it true for a lot of animals, humans have one of the largest genetals of any animal, many animals are so small they can't be easaly seen.

Or perhaps it's just an incredible coincidence? Or perhaps they have inter-dimensional or inter-planetary travel and had discovered and observed Earth, or perhaps Humans will one day develop such technology and find them after escaping from a dying Earth to find a new home. Which can either be good news or bad considering you don't see many Humans around Ponyvil which would suggest that Human society is either separated from the Ponies or they had died out perhaps from conflicts with the Ponies.

If it is really on Earth... well, I can't find Ponyvil on Google Earth so either there's a conspiracy, they're hiding from us or we're going to one day all die in a cutesy Ponypocalypse.

First Answer: Translator magic perhaps? Or extreme coincidence?
Second Answer: But even then, considering that the Ponies are constantly nude and we see them at several different angles their genitals would either have to be invisible or in a unusual spot like on their heads hidden under their hair or something.

I think it's in South Africa.

Yes, here it is. [http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&q=equestria+south+africa&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1440&bih=707&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl]

... You got me excited for a second there, but that place looks far to small to harbour an entire village much less an entire nation of Ponies. D=
...Unless if they're microscopic....

Ah, an excellent argument. Perhaps this answer will suffice.

We both know full well that despite Pinkie Pie being pure awesomeness she has no scientific credentials what so ever and should not even be considered to be a participant in a discussion such as this.
This is an important research/academic matter of the up-most importance!

Maybe it's one of the planets in the Keywork. After all, they have Paris Earth! It's not unlikely that the other planets have a France, Fu Manchu facial hair, the Statue of Liberty and whatnot.

Failing that, one of the other world the Dark Tower supports. Shit bleeds through all the time, yo.

Good point, good point...
Perhaps I should consider becoming a citizen or South Africa then?
Although I probably wouldn't live long enough to see the Golden age of Ponies, but perhaps my non-existent children could...

MLP:FIM set in South Africa?

For many reasons, that is a strange idea. [small]And, there's talking horses, which is a little bit odd, yeah[/small]

Someone already mentioned it above, but I thought just a picture would be easier for those who are lazy to click links. I know who you are.

As you can see by this map, Equestria is on earth.

Sorry, but someone beat you to the punch to say that already.

You're just mad because she can bend any physics in the name of funny. Teleport INTO a mirror's reflection? No problem!

Ancient Greece.

All the monsters are Greek (Hydra, Manticore, Cockatrice) or Western European (Dragons), as is the architecture and art (Greek, that is). Look at Cloudsdale - all Grecian style.

Okay, I have to ask, is this serious? I mean, I'm a fan of the show and whatnot, but taking it to this level is probably what makes other people think bronies are creepy.

...I think it's an alternate universe, one where ponies have become the dominant race. Also, while we're on the subject of oddities in Equestria, why have ponies developed stairs, door knobs, mountainside castles, and hot air balloons? I get that some of the ponies can use magic/fly, but at least a third of the population is stuck with nothing but hooves. You need thumbs to use most of the technology in Equestria.

Also, Pinkie Pie is definitely a credible scientific source when it comes to scientific matter! I mean, she's obviously the best at finding books and knows more about insects than anyone else. I'm sure she's got all kinds of random knowledge tucked away.

Wtf is wrong with you?
Three things:
1.) If I had a dime for every time I've been asked that question...
2.) There was a thread recently of someone who was complaining about Ponies, so I decided to rub salt in the wound.
3.) It's a question that's been on my mind for a while now.
5.) Don't take it too seriously maaaan.
Cockroaches) I hit my head as a small child by falling down the stairs
6.) Why you gotta be like that?

It's all meant to be in good fun.

Listen, when she out-right breaks the laws of Science I don't think think she can ever be a Scientist.
