This sounds like a list of the top-grossing films of the year. Only then does it make sense and it still erodes your faith in humanity.

Watchmen is number 1. Especially the director's cut. Fantastic movie.

Wow, this thread is really stupid.

THE LIST WAS BASED OFF OF SALES! Of course they aren't good movies (except for Up).

After this and Nickleback winning best band of the decade, I no longer have faith in humanity.
You must not be old enough to remember the 80's, then. I started losing faith in humanity back when a B-movie actor got elected President, and was done by the time Clinton was being harassed by Kenneth Starr.

Seriously, when Europe found out Bill Clinton had a mistress while in the Oval Office, their collective first question was "Only one?"

I think my five picks, without any particular order, would have to be...

This is a HORRIBLE list.

My top:

1) Inglorious Basterds

2) District 9

3) Paranormal Activity

4) 9 (as in this 9 not this Nine)

5) Avatar
Well that's also my list and it proves there are at least some people who aren't brain dead left.

My faith was dwindling before, especially during the introduction of the Jonas Brothers.

But it really began happening when I was 6 and George W Bush was elected to office.

That was terrible.

And, no I'm not old enough to remember the 80's. See my username :p

My Top 5

#1 Disctrict 9 (first movie to see more than once in cinema, saw it 3 times in total)
#2 Watchmen (it was just brilliant)
#3 Zombieland (It got my interest in zombies to admit it's existance so yeah)
#4 Public Enemies (Such a beautiful movie, love how they don't make one side look evil)
and last but deffinitely not least!
#5 Up (the begining had tears in my eyes, amazing how so much can be said without a single word)

Runner up:
Ice Age 3 (not that I didn't like it as much, I had to put serious thought into not including it in the main list, anyway Buck FTW)

I double checked the release dates of the ones I was unsure of so yeah, these are all 09 movies.

Watchmen

Inglorious Basterds

Zombieland

Slumdog Millionare

I'll get back to you on this last one. It'd probably be either Avatar or District 9, but I haven't seen either of them yet.

Moviebob would turn in his grave if he saw that list.

You know, I respect people's opinions... but that list is just wrong. Transformers 2 was a terrible movie with worse effects than the first one and with worse acting than the Evil Dead, Harry Potter hasn't made a decent movie since the first one, and Twilight is just... boring. I mean, ranking these horrible movies over The Hurt Locker, Avatar, District 9, and the Informant makes me die a little inside. Up is rightfully placed, though.

That one came out in 2008... but it was excellent and deserved all the praise that it got.
