After this and Nickleback winning best band of the decade, I no longer have faith in humanity.

You must not be old enough to remember the 80's, then. I started losing faith in humanity back when a B-movie actor got elected President, and was done by the time Clinton was being harassed by Kenneth Starr.

Seriously, when Europe found out Bill Clinton had a mistress while in the Oval Office, their collective first question was "Only one?"

My faith was dwindling before, especially during the introduction of the Jonas Brothers.

But it really began happening when I was 6 and George W Bush was elected to office.

That was terrible.

Wow, that list sucked.

I'm telling you, Watchmen better win Best Picture 2009 or I'm torching something. Despite that it isn't as good as a comic and in spite of some questionable acting talent (I personally find it difficult to tell whether certain characters having any real acting skill or not, since they're simply quoting lines from the book. And Silk Spectre's actress is probably the worst offender in that regard.), this is STILL the best superhero movie I have ever seen.

I have a feeling Watchmen is going to age spectacularly well and be a classic film people talk about for years to come, if only because it seems to have succeeded in that impossible task of faithfully translating the graphic novel medium to film in a way that only does credit to the original work. Few adaptations can make the same boast.

I think TC is referring to a list of top money makers. The best movies of the year list would look very different. Even people who saw Transformers 2 and added to its tally likely didn't much like it. Checking Yahoo review... back in a sec

District 9 would be on my top as well. I haven't seen 9 yet, but look forward to it (It is in my Netflix queue).

I think I am the only person in America that saw and loved, "Away We Go". 500 Days of Summer was good too.

T4 was better than expected, but not the stuff that inspires generations of fantasy. Avatar gets honorable mention for presentation. Star Trek was great fun, but Jonah Goldberg of www.nationalreview.com really hit the nail on the head with that one. I hope 2 is not as stupid. (Bob implied as much as well).

I hope to see "Up In The Air" today.
