Halloween III: Season of the Witch - better than all the Michael Myers entries but because there was no Michael Myers, people hated it when it came out (and many still do)

Jason Goes to Hell - again, people hate it because it made a lot of changes to the Friday the 13th series, not because it's a bad movie

The Faculty - I remember when the movie came out, all I heard was negative reviews, 14 years later and it's apparently a cult classic now

Robocop 2 - yes, the 3rd one was shit indeed (seen it last week, soooo bad) but this one is pretty awesome

Impostor - was supposed to kick off a kick ass sci-fi movie franchise but it took people 10 years to start liking it

Shrooms is a fucking stupid movie and I loved every second of it.
Also Black Sheep. What is this 5.9 bullshit on IMDB?

INB4 Marter and Scorpion King 3.
Awwwww! I wanted to make fun of Marter :(
I don't even talk to him very much and haven't been able to avoid hearing his praise for it.

@Marter: I swear I'd give you an earful if I didn't like your reviews so much (plus I'm pretty chill :D)

Captcha: Eat your vitamins

Hmmm maybe you're right captcha it could be delusion caused by nutritional deficiency. Eat healthier Marter!

The Spirit, I saw it with a group of friends after a few pints and just really enjoyed it.

The worst thing is, as someone who is usually the first to complain when a comic book film makes crazy unnecessary changes, loving it makes me the world's biggest hypocrite.

Let's see I liked...
Boondock Saints (okay, everyone and their mother loved this movie, but certainly not the critics)
Cars (haven't watched Cars 2 though)
Godzilla (yes, THAT one)
Ghostbusters 2
Transformers (can't say the same for 2 or 3 though)

So much this.
All of this.
All of this to the moon and back.

Black Sheep is just an AWESOME movie. It's about zombie sheep more or less, what more could you want?

And to make my own suggestion, The Scorpion King 3.
Which is, quite possibly, the best film released this year. But people just don't agree with this.

This makes me and Marter sad.

Speed Racer

I liked the over the top color scheme and it dug into the darker tones. The only aspect I hated was the soundtrack used for the film.

Prometheus.

I feel like i'm one of maybe a handful of people in the world that actually thought it was a good movie.

Granted there were a couple of scenes that were just plain silly but i'm not going to condemn the entire film based on those.

Death to Smoochy. Directed by Danny DeVito and starring Robin Williams and Edward Norton. Yeah, on some level it is a bad film, but it is a good farce and I laughed all the way through.

Ones that others have mentioned: Speed Racer, for its over-the-top visuals. Kung Pow was hilarious, as was Kung-Fu Hustle, which was a love it or hate it thing for critics. Clearly, martial arts movies are good as comedies.

I really loved The Village.

Also, I loved Phantom Menace. I can understand why people hate that one, especially big Star War fans. But I enjoyed it and it was one of the things that really got me into Star Wars other than KOTOR. The original trilogy didn't interest me as much as a kid. I do think the rest of the prequels are awful, Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan was the only really great thing in them.

Alien: Resurrection
It's a dumb action flick, but a well done dumb action flick.
The characters were memorable, had decent characterization.
There was even a prototypical Jane Cobb.

Also lets face it, the movie's plot was good enough to get stolen by every subsequent Alien video game.

At very least it was definitely better than Alien III.

Seriously, this one. I absolutely went nuts over this movie, and to this day I simply fail to see what was bad about it. No one I know will even give it the time of day. I'm so glad I won't be the first nor the only person to mention Speed Racer.

Six String Samurai will now join the list.
I wasn't even aware the movie was well-known enough to get flak from critics. You win a cookie for having even seen this; a friend of mine introduced this to me back in college and I've been a fan ever since.

EDIT: I was going to contribute a movie of my own, but honestly Speed Racer was my first and last thought for the discussion. I would say Tangled, but as far as I know that was pretty well-received; it just never gets included in the best-disney-princess discussion.

Doesn't that define it as the Trope Maker or something?
